I'm being killed

My site has been sinking like a rock for over a year. I need some seo help. I've used Semrush and other tools, but nothing, and I mean nothing helps. Every large update sinks my site further. Any recommendations? I'm thinking of hiring someone, but the project is so big I just don't know if anyone could help. I have about 7000 pages. Finding the problem is like a needle in a haystack. Anyway, suggestions?

  • Browse the SEO forum.. list 3 to 5 or more SEO experts who have provided tips/ insights which you believe make sense and are helpful to those seeking solutions.

And then, try reaching out to these experts via PM, informing them of your actual website. That way, you may get more meaningful tips from people who know their stuff.

  • This is in no way a in prank or joke. In the last year my traffic has been cut in 1/2. I have no idea why, but it's like there is a wet blanket on the site and nothing will raise our numbers. We should rank higher on certain pages and just don't. Sites that are far worse than ours are out ranking us. I've been doing this since 99, there is a problem here, and I can't find it.

  • I'm sorry! I saw other people posting the site addresses, and I assumed. I won't post it again. So, I'll turn the question this way. I need some advice on "thin" content. Any experience with directories being considered thin content?
  • Yes, I know my alexa ranking, haha. It was much better a year ago. I understand the site still has ok traffic, but I'm looking for a specific fix. I can't explain it, but I have a good feel for these things when it comes to the seo and ranking of my site. I know if I write an article where it should place, or at least close, all things being equal, and my site should not be dropping with every major update of G.
  • The only way these days to NOT sink like a rock:

1: Create helpful content that solves your target reader/client problems.

2: Build friendships with top folks in your niche by helping them out; this leads to quality backlinks via guest posting invites and mentions.

Follow the above 2 steps from a generous energy for 6-12 months. Rise. Rise. Rise! SEO-wise.....

Any other approach based on fear of not having enough time, being lazy, etc, etc....does not work, and ensures you keep sinking.

  • I have relationships with most of the people in the top places. I was one of them for the past 10 years. Also, understand that content is king....I really appreciate your response....and I will check my strategies always great advice, but I'm hoping someone can point me to something like thin content, or server settings, or improper redirects.....any ideas on a hard to find sometimes overlooked SEO problem, log penalty?
  • Go to some guy on bhw or here and ask them a seo service, and SEO AUDIT, so you can better know what is going wrong without an excessive expenses fee and from a seo expert prospective
  • Ok....I have run audits in Semrush, do you think I will get more detailed information than that? I mean would the "some guy" over there do more than that? I like the idea. I'm certainly willing to do it, that's why I'm here.

  • You can do offpage submissions like the article, blog by providing unique content.
  • Sometimes it is easier to just put a bullet in it's head and migrate the content to a new domain name and start from scratch. But first, try a new host. Your IP address may have been blacklisted for some reason.
