Help with sitemaps and crawl errors

Hi all I am more of a designer than a tech person. All this SEO alphabet soup makes my head spin, so bear with me here. Basically I designed and submitted a site, I generated a sitemap for it, (using googles plugin) and then I went to run a site audit using SEMrush. The audit will not even complete (precrawl error) it tells me. When I last did do an audit successfully (less than 24 hr ago) the report came back with "broken links" to pages that don't exist... does anyone know where I begin with all this? I'm so confused and I need my clients site to be visible on google etc..

  • As a beginner, I would advise you not to use SEMRush. This is for advanced users. Instead, I would suggest you use SEOptimer. This tool will provide a complete picture of all the SEO aspects of your website. I analyzed and find that there are some issues with Responsiveness. There is no content above the fold. Try to add content below the slider. I hope this helps.

  • It's a new site, Semrush cannot give good data about it. Just go ahead, still use Semrush, but it can give you better data over time.

  • Site is pretty bad from a SEO perspective. If you are just a designer you should consult a professional SEO . Theres too much that needs to be fixed to list and explain here.

  • You incorrectly inserted e-mail as a link to your client in the footer.
  • Crawl errors are something you normally can't avoid and they don't necessarily have an immediate negative effect on your SEO performance. Nevertheless, they are a problem you should tackle. Having a low amount of crawl errors in Search Console is a positive signal for Google, as it reflects a good overall website health. Also, if the Google bot encounters less crawl errors on your page, users are less likely to see website and server errors.
    First, mark all crawl error
  • Then why the frick are you doing SEO for a,"client"?

    You people are just getting way beyond belief.
