Yeah you can change it no problem, the link juice will flow to the new url. As long as the content is relevant to the page it's pointing to, there's no harm in changing your link.

Personally, I'd also just change the first paragraph of the article a bit as well, so that the crawler/spider picks up that the content change, because it will take a while to pick up if all you changed was the link/anchor text.

You see, spiders crawl pages bit by bit, not everything at once, so at least change the first sentence if not the whole paragraph. If a crawler picks up that first paragraph and sees no changes, it will be a while before it crawls everything else, but if it's "new", it will speed it up because "ooh new content".

on compilation of multiple factors, it will effect ranking and the way how link juice

Yes, it can be helpful for passing the link juice but content should be relevant as Google is so smart now to detect whether the content is relevant or not. I'm guessing you have written the articles not using plagiarism content.

The answer it's deffinetely yes. They will help your new site and in some time will drop the old site, that will lack those BLs (in terms that those links were an important part of the BLs profile).
Location from the article's URL couldn't hurt so much. The topic it's on the same niche and will help.
"Someone told me..." It's a certainty that there isn't a rule of how often visits, in general, X page of the website Y. From my experience I can tell you that can take from few days, to weeks or months. Depends on many factors like: how many pages that website has, how many internal links that article has, how many backlinks are to that article, category page where is listed, what's that website crawl budget and so on.
Less talk, more action, go and change them. If there are dozens of links, change BLs like 5-10/week. Anyway there you can't estimate when exactly will index them, but for your safety.
