Does Changing Hyperlink Helps in Ranking?

I was doing SEO for a dentist who left without paying. I got around 8k to 10k words written and posted as articles and web 2.0. Is it okay if I edit this already cached content for a new client of same niche but different location? Many URLs have previous location in it which can not be edited. I can just edit anchor text, link and location in content.
Someone told me that it will be fine because Google visits every URL after some days but I am really confused about the location name in URL. I also want to know that whether this will help me in ranking or not and will I get the link juice after changing anchor text and link from previous site to the new one?
Any guidance is really appreciated as I can't find it's answer anywhere.

    Yeah you can change it no problem, the link juice will flow to the new url. As long as the content is relevant to the page it's pointing to, there's no harm in changing your link.

    Personally, I'd also just change the first paragraph of the article a bit as well, so that the crawler/spider picks up that the content change, because it will take a while to pick up if all you changed was the link/anchor text.

    You see, spiders crawl pages bit by bit, not everything at once, so at least change the first sentence if not the whole paragraph. If a crawler picks up that first paragraph and sees no changes, it will be a while before it crawls everything else, but if it's "new", it will speed it up because "ooh new content".

    Oh yeah, don't forget to ping your article after making changes to speed up the crawling process even more.

    stay away from any dentist that relies on seo...or even hires anyone.

    Editing content is bread and butter of optimization.

    Every site is different even if you are making a carbon copies but because it depends
    on compilation of multiple factors, it will effect ranking and the way how link juice
    has been effected by those factors.

    Yes, it can be helpful for passing the link juice but content should be relevant as Google is so smart now to detect whether the content is relevant or not. I'm guessing you have written the articles not using plagiarism content.

    The answer it's deffinetely yes. They will help your new site and in some time will drop the old site, that will lack those BLs (in terms that those links were an important part of the BLs profile).
    Location from the article's URL couldn't hurt so much. The topic it's on the same niche and will help.
    "Someone told me..." It's a certainty that there isn't a rule of how often visits, in general, X page of the website Y. From my experience I can tell you that can take from few days, to weeks or months. Depends on many factors like: how many pages that website has, how many internal links that article has, how many backlinks are to that article, category page where is listed, what's that website crawl budget and so on.
    Less talk, more action, go and change them. If there are dozens of links, change BLs like 5-10/week. Anyway there you can't estimate when exactly will index them, but for your safety.

    The answer to your question is Yes.
    Most definitely. Yes. You won't be facing any issue if you go ahead.
    This will definitely be helpful for the new site you're working on, and after a while, those links on the previous site, will be dropped.
    Doing this won't hurt you primarily because you're operating in the same niche.
    So go ahead with your plan.

    yes, you can do it but choose the right anchor text ratio. Don't use so many exact match anchor text.
