Hey guys, I am reading that video is and will be the future for SEO. i am also being told that every page and blog on my website should include a video. If that would be best then would it be wise for me to link to just anyone's video at random on youtube or would I absolutely need to create a unique video of my own for every one of my pages and future blogs please?

You need to make your own videos that provide insane value, here's why!

    1. Dwell time. Googles rank brain update on Oct 26th 2015 has had many subsequent updates. One of your ranking factors is dwell time.

Who's going to watch more than the 1st 10 seconds of an unrelated video. No one, that's who.

    2. SEO is all about UX (user experience). How good of a UX is a random video.

    3. Your video channel for that site will drive traffic from YT to your site.

    4. You get to connect with your audience and provide them with real value and interaction. This makes for happy site visitors, which means their actions on the site tell Google that they are happy with your being #1 in the SERP's.

    5. Happy surfers share content.

There is NO way you should skimp on this.

Oh sorry, I should have mentioned that I was referring to videos "in my niche" which is computer repair, just that it would be computer repair videos from the net, not my own unique ones.

The problem with this would be visitor/traffic retention. If I'm searching up how to replace a video card, and I land on your site, and then I see a video of someone going step-by-step into how to replace a video card, why would I need/use your site?

I'd probably instinctively click on the video, go to their video channel and then save it for future use.

      See the logic flow?

Though he might add a video at the very end of his article, so a user will read his article and stay on the site even more watching a video in the end. It works if you have just an informational site and don't offer any service or product yourself.

Yes you can add videos related to your niche. It will help but if you create your own videos that would be great. Videos will be 50% of content till 2020 so you need to focus on videos.

Well guys, of course it's always best practice to make one's own videos, even I knew that. I had thought that embedding anyone's videos in my niche on my pages would simply be beneficial for the search engines to crawl it and pick up on my kw's.

I like a lot people are not comfortable being in front of a camera or even doing a voiceover which means I would need to pay someone to create videos for me.

I would stop reading whoever you are reading.

Look at around at your competition. Do any of them have videos on every page? Nope. Why? Because it would be stupid.

Hmnn, good point thinking about it now. yes, none of my local competition have videos on any of their pages and blogs, even those that are ranking in the top spots.

With a lot of sources on the net stating that videos will be essential for google rankings that is mainly why I am looking into this.

There is a premium plugin called WP Automatic that allows you to automatically post videos on your Wordpress blog based on keywords. It also does rss feeds, Instragram, Facebook and articles.

  • You can post video but it is better to post those videos which belongs to your site.Putting any random video may cause serious error to your site.

I do not think thst it is necessary to have a video for each page unless the video correlates with the message. What is most important is that each page is optimized well organized i.e easy to understand.And. yes video does play a significant role in ranking. But just make sure that the video is useful meaning addresses a problem of your audience.

If necessary, you can make your own videos.
Or you can find some others videos which are useful and related to you blogs and indicate the source.
Also, you can choose not to do this.

Whatever you do, do not use a plugin like this. You will get some really shitty and trashy videos that make your brand look like garbage.

Although it is better to have your own videos, I see nothing wrong at all about posting someone else's video on pages where a video is helpful, provided that they are not a direct competitor. You should also include your own unique content that helps clarify things in the video, offering additional tips or maybe even a different way to do one of the steps described in the video.

Yeah, I suppose a few people will head off to that site's channel but people are lazy; if they are watching it on your site, why would they go through the trouble of clicking elsewhere - especially if your page has additional tips that enhance what is in the video?

Suggesting that everyone will move away from your page if it is someone else's video is like suggesting that people should never link to other websites' articles because they may like that site better and not come back to yours.

In my opinion, you need to make your own videos if necessary.
Maybe you can try to include some videos which are relevant and valuable for visitors.
Also, maybe you don't need them, just include attractive articles, blogs, pictures is good enough.
