Premium Backlinking VS WSO Backlinking

hey guys....
so i know backlinking is a fundamental part of ranking your site in google.
I have just created a product and salespage and invested a lot of time, this is not a quick flip site... it is a long term project which has taken me about 5-6 months.
Now i have done all the on page optimization...
and so its time for off page....
there are a ton WSO's ppl offering link building services (inc paul/angelas). also web 2.0 site creation, social book marketing, article spinning, etc for a monthly fee of anything from $10-150
with promises that they will rank you at the top of google...
im completely overwhelmed and do not know the difference which I should opt for....
I dont want to dive in and invest money to know X months down the line all the links will disappear...
I really dont know where to start and who to go to for a reliable service??
what is the difference from places like linkvana vs WSO backlinking services?
can anyone point me in the right directions..
