Hi,
I had an old page which I replaced with a new page and created a 301 redirect I thought that after some time Google would remove the old page from it's database but it has been a month and the old page is still showing up in the search results and my rankings for that page keep fluctuating. Any help would be grealty appreciated.

Eventually, it will re-direct. Seems like the better thing to do would have been just re-writing the old page, though.

I can't guarantee that you will have the same ranking because Google (or more accurately, user metrics) might have liked the old content better than the new content, but one way would be to copy all of the new content and put it onto the URL of the old content and then get rid of the new URL.
