Will this help my Directory Website?

Hello,

We've just launched a new Directory and so far have hundreds of business profiles listed.

We want to improve SEO so we think we should use the Industries as Categories and enrich them with Keywords.

For example, the banking category, we think doing something like "Best Banks in Country" as title and add more content to this category page.

Will this help and is there a way we can automate this process.

Currently on WordPress.

Thank you

Yes, do your keyword research (Keywordseverywhere is a great free Chrome plugin) and make pages for all the best relevant keywords for your topic.

It's easy to outsource all that if you want . . . split it into tasks, and outsource each separately, so you could get one worker to grab all the relevant keywords with their stats. Then you rank them in order such as by traffic, then get someone to write an article on each. Automation for this specific task is a bad idea, because automatically-generated articles won't do you as much good.

This is technically good advice, but when many people try to put it in practice, they end up creating a site that looks/feels/reads spammy. Just be careful.

Definitely the keyword research is important - finding right keyword which is more relevant to the content and targeted audience is more beneficial.

Yes giving category or categorizing the business help in understanding the user in which group he/she want to list his/her business, not only that it will also reduce the amount of seo work and make it easy for google spiders to read it and list them on search result page.

I think you need to look at things a bit differently.. right now you are looking at YOUR objectives... more traffic equates more revenue. BUT you are leaving out a key element.. and that the users that will actually be creating the TRAFFIC.

Right down to its absolute basics you are creating a reference website. People want information about X you want them to think of YOUR site.. how do you get there? Create a site that is USER friendly and provides the needed information. a bunch of hype and best ofs sounds good.. but when a person is searching for a doctor in X city they could really care less about the trick and pony show.

Think about developing traffic flow from the prospective of the END USER and not YOUR end objectives.. and you will find you will make both ends of the spectrum happy... The end users that are using it.. and the developer that has gained traffic flow to sign on paying users.

    best of luck

When a business is looking to get found online, the best technique is to submit their NAP (name, address, phone number) and other important information to online business directories. Not just any directory or every directory, but the best of the best online directories.
We've talked before about how to choose the best directories, but in this ever-changing online world, it's important to know the real facts before entrusting a brand's information to an online directory.
