Must you submit each new blog post to Google for indexing?

We recently launched a new company blog and submitted it to Google for indexing.

My question is, must you submit each new blog post for Google indexing even after submitting the root domain i.e. www.yourdomain.com/blog/? Does it earn you any extra 'favors" in terms of Google ranking?

Thanks

K. Edward

Nope no favor. Whether you submit each url manually through fetch or submit your entire site as a whole.

Thanks for your input. I actually tried searching for one of my new blogs 2 days after posting but didn't find it. After submission to Google, it showed up after 5 minutes.

So maybe not a favor in terms of how high your posts rank, but how quickly they get indexed.

Time to get indexed is not fixed. And it varies in each case.

No, you won't rank any better just because you submit a blog post to Google.

Once your blog is established and has some backlinks, there's not much point in submitting posts manually, because Google should be spidering your site every day, and finding anything new.

But in the early days, submitting new posts to Google manually will get them picked up straight away - which could be a day or two quicker than waiting for it to visit your site on its own schedule.

It's good practice to have an XML sitemap listing all the pages you want Google to index. If you're using Wordpress then one of the SEO plugins like Yoast will take care of that for you.

Since our blog is relatively new, you're probably right. I will do manual submission for a while before we build traction. Sitemap is already taken care of ...thanks!

Nope, as long as you have a sitemap and submit that to your Google Search Console, Google will regularly crawl the new links. The Google Search Console will even tell you the last time it crawled your sitemap so you can make sure Google is indexing all of your URLs.

I'm only submitting one or two new posts a month now but, call me old-fashioned, I still submit manually in Google Webmaster tools. Same with Bing. Gives me a chance to take a look at statistics - linking, keyword placement, etc.

Nope ... Just make sure to submit sitemap and post quality unique contents often.

It will help google index you more faster and regularly.

You could ping the posts automatically if you use WordPress.

Yes... It's called Google Webmaster Tools.

Google Webmaster Tools completely eliminates the need for any third party web submission tool. Why use a third party tool when Google allows you to notify them directly?

I'd be less concerned with submission and more with building bonds and landing guest posts on blogs from your niche; this is how to look good in Google's eyes.

I would suggest to let it slide and let google index your posts on its own as if you are not producing crap then sooner or later they will prioritize you.

I have some website where I just post and article and it indexes within few minutes.
