Why weak sites outperform in Google?

Hello,

I have found a rare case when a week site outperforms other strong sites.
Can anyone suggest why Google rank it higher?

My analysis:
keyword: tours st petersburg russia
Search engine: Google USA (Desktop)
website: https://www.spb-tours.com
Ranked #3

This site has only DA 26, PA 31, very heavy (only 57 speed score on Google page speed for desktops) and non-optimized.
But it outperforms other sites that are SEO optimized and have much stronger backlinks profile. I have checked all potential SEO factors and was not able to find any particular reason to rank it high.

Any ideas why?

DA and PA are not metrics used by Google to rank sites!

I'm not sure if Google considers travel a YMYL niche (it probably should on both counts) but if it does, spb-tours has much more trust established by a third party site - tripadvisor - than anything ranking below it. With a 5 out of 5 overall ranking from more than 5,300 reviews on tripadvisor and other endorsements from known travel authorities, they have built up a whole lot of trust signals form third party sites, which are much stronger and more trusted signals than reviews that a site maintains, itself, and can manipulate.

And, of course, there are a whole lot of things you will never be able to measure with any tool. It may have better user signals than the sites that rank below it, for instance.

You have not. You have found a page that is better optimized for the keyword than all but 2 other pages... In other words, you have found the 3rd strongest competitor for that keyword.

I think you're not quite understanding SEO factors... What does PA have to do with ranking?

User experience. Site loaded pretty fast for me and looks simple to use if that's what I wanted. No idea what the other sites are or how they look, but this one doesn't look like a "weak" site from glancing at it for 5 seconds

Haven't seen any reasons why the site is weaker than others.

      1) baclink profile
      2) content
      3) speed optimization
      4) keyword optimization

      Literally everything...

If a site have 60+ PA and DA then keyword rank easily. Also check the CF and
TF of site. If a site have less PA and DA but have high CF and TF then keywords must have to rank on google page one.

DA PA are not the only factors considered for ranking.
The article might be ranking because it might have got good number of shares and visits through social media platforms.
It's also possible that the content present on that page must be very useful and has less dwell time.

    Hi,

There are various ranking factors Google consider So it is quite possible that the site you have mentioned above is leading in some factors from the competitors.
