If you have a list of 10 keywords all closely related and you are doing article blogging, can you use those 10 keywords in the same article or do you need 10 separate articles even though they are closely related?

example, list includes, best bike for women, best bike for girls, best bike for men, best bike for boys, etc
#search engine optimization #articles #keywords
  • Well, You can do any of them, but the question is how will you focus on 10 keywords in one article.
    • [1] reply
    • I agree with you with the fact that the person who have started this thread have to focus only on 10 keyword in one article
      • [1] reply
  • Those keywords are all unique enough for their own individual articles. Consider approaching them from a top 10 style and do a unique article for each one.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • keywords like "best bike for women and best bike for girls" should be used in one article because girls and woman are semantic keywords.
The same way other article should include keywords like " best bike for men, best bike for boys, etc"
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [3] replies
    • Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. It should be two articles.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • Your reply looks logical. The person who started this thread should club semantic keywords and write articles for each group of keywords.
Moreover, if he includes all 10 keywords in one article, it will be difficult for him to rank his article against any keyword.
So, instead of being generic, he should be specific in the choice of keywords.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • That's write for this, But Need to consider keyword density when you writing a article for blog. It may be every 200 words article it is well to include one keyword like as "best bike for women".
  • The best is if you could create separate unique article for each keyword and repeat that keyword and similar ones many times in that article. Of course, the more unique articles you can create the better.
  • I wouldn't use all of the keywords in one article .What I would do is pick search the main keyword plus 1 or 2 keyword phrases use them in my my titles my H1H2 tags. The last thing I would want to do is saturate my page with keywords because i would get penalized from google.I would prefer to use my keyword and phrases naturally.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I would do it like this : each keyword would have its own article as a post in my blog about bikes... and a nice good entertaining article would contain contextually all keywords as inline links. That way I could keep the visitor more on my site.
  • Here is the method I use and it works for my websites.

Keyword Phrase Do: The main thing is to naturally get your keyword phrase in the first few words of the title. Use it once at the end of the first paragraph and again in the last paragraph.

Keyword Phrase : Don't use it more than 4 or 5 times throughout the article. There used to be a rule that a good article, one that shows up on the first page of Google, uses the keyword phrase as a total of at least 10% of the article. That would mean that for a 400 word article would be used 40 times known as keyword stuffing.

Keywords Do: Have your keywords appear 2-5% of the time in your article also known as "keyword density" naturally place your keyword(s) in the first few words of the paragraphs.

    Jeffery 100%

    Edit/Added:
Use of keywords and keyword phrases is part of the on-page SEO primarily for organic search results. Another way to optimize for sales is to research the keywords and keyword phrases of the product sales page aka Sales page SEO. It is all relative. Naturally try to incorporate it all into your article. In some cases you will discover additional keywords and keyword phrases.

The idea is your visitors will subconsciously flow from the article into your "funnel" and that is the goal wouldn't you say?
  • depends of lenght if your article is short 500 words and you will put all of them there then it doesnt make a sense and it wont work
Article has to be longer lets say more than 1000 words and have a structure where you can put all keywords separately in one piece
Believe me I do SEO more than 5years and some clients want to put even 30 keywords in 300 word article
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply

    • True. 1,000 + word articles allows for a complete structure. On a lot of blogs people will create a home page with multiple excerpts of articles. The excerpts are typically 10 - 15 and 300 to 350 words and the full articles are 1,000 + words.

In one sense a new visitor sees a quick and concise overview of the blog and has a choice of an article that interests them, solves a problem etc. In another sense the visitor typically landed on the page with the full article and thus does not have a quick and concise overview of the blog.

After years of having articles on page 1 of the search engines I have found that no matter how the blog is organized for the reader the search engines give more weight to the article's SEO practices. When both are executed properly the visitor gets what they want, the search engine gets what they want, and my business gets what I want, lol.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Hi,
you can't use 10 keywords in one article. 2-3 keywords are enough for one article, so try to choose keywords as per that quantity only.
    or

you can use 1 or 2 long-tail keywords phrase to cover your article keyword requirements... because a long-tail keyword is the combination of 2 or more short keywords

  • It wouldn't make sense to use them all in a shorter article. I'd group them and write 2 or 3 articles.
  • Hi Mike,

For keywords that are closely related like yours, you can do either options that you have mentioned. I would be inclined to use just 1 article and include all of your keywords.

    Hope this helps

    Regards.
  • The thing that determines whether you should do one article or multiple articles is user intent:

If you have several keywords that cover the same user intent - then you should try to target them with a single article. That way you can take the time to make it a more comprehensive treatment of the subject.

If your keywords cover different user intents, then it's better to create a separate article for each user intent - in other words, group your keywords by user intent and create one article for each group.

In your examples - "best bike for boys" and "best bike for girls", and "best bike for men" are different user intents and should have separate articles.

"Best bike for men" and "best bike for a man" and "best bike for guys" are the same user intent and should be covered in a single article.

    Hope that helps.

  • In general, it is recommended using a keyword density rate in the range of 1-2%. Too much keyword density can cause your site to be tagged as spam. It means the frequency of keyword use in overall content

  • Don't use all keywords in just one article, it's better to go with just 2-3 keywords per article, stuffing all the keywords in just one article will affect your article badly.
  • I will suggest to use only 2-3 keywords in your article, Otherwise article may affect.

  • If you have several Keyword, which are close to your Main keyword then, this keyword helps you to improve and your seobility and search visibility on the search engine.
but if you are targeting those keywords in your content, then you have to focus on more than 1000 plus word.
Actually you can use this keyword with heading tag along with your heading sentence, but you can use those keywords as the supported keyword ,you have to also mention your Main keyword.

"Best bike" is your Main keyword but Man ,women ,guys those are the supported keyword.

  • The ideal keywords count per article would be 2-3 since the article flow should look natural. Putting more keywords in single article may affect the flow and result in keyword stuffing unless the article is 1500+ words. I would suggest you to target group of 3 keywords per article.

  • Hi Mikeb222,
Anything could work for you. Either you can include all the keyword in one article or you could write different articles for a different keyword.
I would like to suggest you to have different articles for different keywords.
    why is that?
    1. You can have 3-4 articles targetting different keywords.
    2. You can provide internal link to each other. In this way, you can improve ranking of all the articles.
    3. Try to post articles in different & consective weeks. This way you can maintain the constancy in your articles.
I hope this will help you.
  • You can't use 10 keywords in an article at a time. If some keywords are the same then you can use them make a phrase. Otherwise, you have to write unique article for every keywords.
  • [DELETED]
  • Yeah, this makes a lot of sense.

  • I will rather diversify those 10 keywords.

Not just for each article but for each video.

Because when people typed those keywords, they are not just looking for content related to those keywords.

They are looking for answers and tips that may help them or their loved ones.

So in a nutshell, behind every keyword is an underlying question.

It is up to you find what those underlying questions are and how to address them.
  • How long is your article? If it's around 500 words then it wouldn't make sense if you use all ten. You can make an article for each keyword or you can use 2 or 3 for longer articles.
  • You can use any of the ways. However, if you put in 10 keywords in a single article, it will more resemble the practice of keyword stuffing. Hence, you better go with individual articles on each keyword. This will intensify your content which means more backlinks juice.
  • For one article just focus on adding only 2-3 keywords.
  • [DELETED]
  • You may write but you cannot target all at once. The Keyword Density matters. So my suggestion would be to target one short tail keyword with one or two long tail keywords. Like Best Bike for Women, Best Bike for girls 2019.

    #keyword #seo
  • Who has just made a copy of my website, what can I do now?
  • Hi, you can write an article on bike users so that you can cover all of them in one go and you can also go for different articles for different keyword. I think you should also keep a check on how your competitor are doing, seo tools are available in the market for helping you to keep a check on your competitor.
  • You can check keyword volume in ahrefs tool which paid and it gives accurate result.
  • You can use multiple keywords in one article as long as it makes sense. If you are describing a specific type of bike for men or boys then it wouldn't make sense to include bikes for women and girls. Those could be in a separate article. But some of the more general tags can be used throughout the same article, though always be careful not to overuse them. Just sprinkle them in the text. I personally get annoyed when the posts are more Google than User/Reader friendly. Also doing some keyword research beforehand will give you a variety and synonyms to use. Don't forget to include keywords in your title, SEO title, meta description and URL. If your site is on WordPress, Yoast plugin is very helpful for this.

  • The best way to do this is by determining what will be your cornerstone content. In your case, it would be Bikes. Write an article about your cornerstone content then write other 'sub-articles' that relate to bikes like 'best bike for girls' and 'best bike for boys', etc, then link to your cornerstone content from these sub-articles. Wait a couple of days for Google to index your articles. You can check by typing in site:yoursite.com and look for your article in the results. After they have been indexed by Google then promote your articles/blog posts off-site in social media sites, etc.

The reason for waiting until your articles are indexed first is so that if the topic happens to rank you would want your site to be the one instead of a copy of it elsewhere ranking first. It is not a guarantee but it does help the odds.

  • According to your example. I would write a single for these kind of similar keywords.

You can also write individual articles. But it will increase the work.

If you create a single article, you can create a long post with complete detail, which will be easy to rank.

Then it will be easy for you to create backlinks for an article except of many. So creating a single post looks more beneficial.
  • [DELETED]
  • If you create a single article, Then you use different keyword is best for your article.
  • if you use different chances you got more chances to get ranked more articles in top 10 results , so our reach will increase if you use unique articles for your every keywords.
  • If the keywords are related to the article's niche, sure thing. If they represent different niches, I guess you can include a few, but that's up to you, I wouldn't recommend it tho.

In your examples, those keywords can be included in the same article. However, keyword stuffing is a thing of the past and unless you want to link these keywords with different articles you own, use them moderately per article.
