So guys, almost every article on marketing I have been seeing on the net for a while now is stating video is the future and is or will be responsible for 80% of marketing.

I have also been getting a lot of emails for all types of video creation softwares. So what's the deal with all of this, to reach your target customers is there any real value to promote videos for products and services? Or is this all hype?

It can increase your search engine ranking, click-through rates, open rates and conversions. But you have to reach your target audience. YouTube is the second largest search engine (second to Google). What's better: YouTube is owned by Google. So that means a properly tagged video can work wonders for your SEO.

VIDEO Marketing is more important than ever, But I don't see it as the "Future of SEO".
Google still has its favor on text content. You can check out the result of big players on article length. search for it. you'll find evidence.

Which would be the better medium for the videos, should I put a video in each blog or simply upload to YT and try to rank it there?

Since there is so much traffic floating around on YouTube on a daily basis, it should definitely be woven into your overall marketing efforts.

YouTube SEO is important and will continue to be so moving forward. However, there will always be a place for well written content/blog articles as well. Many people prefer to read written text rather than watch a video (and vice versa) so it's smart to focus on both.

One area that will be a big part of the future of SEO is voice search. This is something all of us SEO specialists should be adapting to as technology progresses.

        Hey Mike,

A strategy that I personally like is to write a blog post and also create a YouTube video based around that blog post. Within my YouTube description for that video, I will leave a link to my blog article. And within the blog article, I will add a link to my YouTube video if there are some people who would rather get the information in video content. This could be a good way to get more eyeballs on both platforms.

Thanks and makes sense Evan but any reason why it would not be good to include the video itself directly into the blog please?

I am seeing this article on it but just checking with you guys if having a video in the blog will offer any advantage or be counter productive?

  • Video marketing is definitely the future but that's doesn't mean people won't stop reading articles. still, there's a 40 / 60 ratio. as videos are easy to watch and learn whereas reading articles needs full attention which is kinda difficult.

    Yes definitely.

Visual Processing: In large part, the human brain is devoted to processing visual information. The brain responds faster and the information is retained in the mind for a longer time.
Learning Through Demonstration: Abstract or challenging concepts and information that may be difficult to understand in text are learned much faster by processing a visual demonstration of the information.
Contextualization: Videos make a visual representation of the real world and are useful in converting abstract theories into visuals.
