Indexing and Article submission - Surprising results

Recently found out that a lot of my web2 submissions (ie squidoo) were not being indexed so I went back over some old article submissions to make sure those articles were indexed.

The results are as follows for the directories I use

Enzine - indexed
Article Click - not indexed
Go Articles - indexed
Idea Marketers - not indexed
Article Biz - not indexed
Amazines - indexed
Article Dashboard - indexed

From my understanding if an article/comment/submission is not being indexed then it is useless from the SEO point of view so I'm planning on stopping submissions to the directories that don't get indexed.

Is that a correct/logical move?

    Make them get indexed yourself.

Ping them using pingler or pingomatic.

Take their rss feeds and submit them to rss aggregators. There are free tools or you can get Big Mikes software for about 12 bucks.

Bookmark them - Again, there are free options like Onlywire or paid options like Bookmarking Demon.

I do all of the above three things to every page I own, or every page that is linking to mine that isn't currently indexed.

Nothing to stop you pinging immadiately, but the length of time to be indexed depends o nthe niche, my shortest time is three hours but no longer than five days.

Just enter the URL of the article URL into the searchbox (yourarticle.com) for the searchengine you're checking.

also submit your article links to blogs for really stupid fast indexing. Sometimes it only takes 5 minutes for indexing. Find popular blog sites like celebrity sites.

You can either ping them to make them indexed or you can save the time to write another post and submit to article directory that you have good experience.
