What's the most effective way to report PBN?

Hi, I found some PBN sites linking to a competitor (dozens of sites all look the same).

I read in some article that the "report webspam" page isn't very effective - what are your thoughts/experience with it, and how can I effectively report these sites?

Also, the same competitor seems to buy fake map reviews (most of them are with broken English and some doesn't make much sense for the product they're selling) - what would be the best way to report these reviews (or even his whole gmb page)?

Thanks.

How do you know that they are owned by the same owner?

Over 40 domains with the exact same home page design, same unusual domain extension, all linked to the same money site almost at the same time (semrush "first found" date).

You would think so, but most of them are still indexed (in site:url google search).

Time would be more productive spent working on your own site/business rather than trying to report competition.

You can do a google search and find links to report - but may not have any affect. Those are mainly for malware/porn reporting. If a PBN is obvious, google will find it.

"Those are mainly for malware/porn reporting".
The first line of the page say: "Webspam refers to pages that try to trick Google into ranking them highly".

I really appreciate all your guys insights but I would like to focus on my main question please.

    Thanks.

The fact that you "discovered" that network should mean Google already knows about it. You don't see changes in ranking or indexing because it takes time for these to be removed.

Focus on growing your business and not reporting others.

Don't be THAT guy... yawn. Let Google do their jobs and focus on your own strategies rather than being the annoying kid that runs to the teacher when someone digs his nose

As far as I know the Report Webspam page is the only option Google give you.

The thing is, Google isn't interested in fighting fires by manually tackling individual spammers, PBNs etc.

The spam reports they receive are used as training data for their next algorithm improvements not as something they act on manually.

If you want to see your competitor's PBN taken out, then submitting it to Google via Report Webspam and getting it into their training data means it might get taken down by a future algorithm update.

If you really want to do that then you can use this link https://www.google.com/webmasters/to...rt?hl=en&pli=1

But Best would be to let it slip since those PBNs are crappy and will get detected very soon resulting in losing ranking for the linked website.

You can try the spam reporting route through Google, but it is doubtful it will get anywhere. They likely get thousands upon thousands of those a day.

The most effective way... Start a thread at Google's Webmaster Forum. Play dumb. Put up a post with links to the site and all the network sites and say something like, "I thought these sort of tactics weren't supposed to work anymore. Am I wrong?"

Basically, you publicly shame them into action.
