Link Wheel and its Power

I know that Google hates the Link Wheel -

First Question - Why does Google hate the Link Wheel? (I'm talking about let's say a group of six or eight Web 2.0 properties linking to each other (like in a circle) and each property links back to your site's landing page).

Many people claim the wheel is so powerful. If they are correct, then why is the wheel so strong? Even if Google catches on - temporarily, it seems to boost the main site up in the SERPs.

Why do you think Google Hate link Wheel?

I think Google hate bad content on their SERP, that's why they filter spamy site!

Google will filter anything that damage their search engine usability, so create good content! Don't bother worry about Google kicking your ***, just create value and stay below radar!

    Just few general rules:

    1. Make sure your site don't have duplicated posts.
    2. Posts your articles slowly, especially your site is new.
    3. Get as many high PR backlinks as possible.
    4. Create quality content, useful to user and yourself.

I saw many black hatter successfully spam Google and stayed longer than many white hat site, that's proves you will be filtered only when you don't know what you are doing!!

As long as you don't duplicate the same style of link wheel and use the same content, Google will never know, and will see it as natural link building. Randomization is your best friend for link wheels.

      bigcat1967,

Google doesn't hate geometrically shaped linking patterns, they hate spamdexing. Build great content and follow Google's webmaster guidelines and you will be golden with Google, regardless of the shape or pattern of your links.

      Great Content = Google Love
      Spamdexing = Google Hate

Many folks seem to get hung up on the shape and pattern of their linking strategy, as if it has some magical pixie dust powering it. And I can understand why the guy selling the ebook wants you to believe in the magic (at least until the money-back guarantee expires), but Google doesn't care, they see spam as spam and quality as quality.

Build quality pages in any shape and pattern you prefer and they will stand the test of time and become a valuable resource.

        Hi,

All that is here is very true and it is very important to have good content which has to be unique and relevant as, Google will always give preference to this as quality matters a lot as far as Google concerns.

        Thanks!!

Link wheel, link square, link in the ass.

They suck cause they are junk content. And serve no purpose other than making people think they bring da' traffic' when all they bring is da' pain.

They are a waste of time. Your best bet is to spend your time creating good content for your sites and posting it.

The problem is newbie marketer, they start out with crappy content, can't blame them much but that really kills all the fun!

When too much crappy stuff on the SERP, Google will start to change their algorithm, that's where the problem start to arise...

It definately takes for your content in each part of the link wheel to be of great quality and to be unique. From my own experience i have found that my link wheels perform better and retain me top positions by doing this.
