Would webmasters exchange a high DA link for illustrations?

Hi,
I'm curious to know if you think this a good way of building a couple of decent quality backlinks?
As an illustrator, I'm wondering if a webmaster/ blogger of a not-so-dissimilar niche would in fact swap an illustration on one of their articles or somewhere on their website, for a DA link back to my website in said article?
Is that a reasonable request? If so, who would do it?
Sorry if it's a little vague, but I'm thinking of creative ways of getting high ranking blogs to link to my services page. As you can probably guess, I'm having some difficulty.
Any advice you have would be great!
