Do you need to host in the country you are targeting?

Hi Guys,

I', still struggling with blogging.
I have a couple of sites, nearly year old, but I feel I maybe went to broad with my niches and even though the sites have good articles (over 40 at least 1000 words long) but I just don't get any Google organic traffic.

Now I can't remember where I read this, but someone once wrote that if you are based in the UK let's say, Google won't rank your site if it's targeting the US, unless your hosting account is in the US

I don't know how much truth is in this, but just wondered if anyone ever noticed this before, as I am UK based trying to target US traffic and struggling.

I suppose my other problem could be I've been trying to do this all without back-links (income school method) yet I've seen less impressive sites soaring in no time with over $1,000 per month and 10,000 traffic.

    Where you are hosting your blog has relevance only if it affects the loading time of your website. Test your website for speed and see if it load with good score from where your visitors are.

    If you have a good score, that's not the problem. If you do, improve your loading time.

    There are a lot of reasons why you wouldn't rank your websites.

    Not getting any traffic at all is weird. But without an SEO audit it's hard to say.

    We don't know your websites, your keywords, how you've built those websites, the quality of your content and so forth.
