Hi guys,

What is the 2nd best free articles submission website after EzineArticles?

I've heard about Article Dashboard Directory | Submit Articles | Search Find Free Content | Author Submission and I started to post there but I want to be sure I'm not wasting my time.

Cheers

Super Ryan

    Hello Ryan,

I would recommend buzzle.com. It seems to be picked up pretty fast by search engines. Also, goarticles.com is not bad, but you need to sign up with a non yahoo, gmail and hotmail account.

There are many more of course, but these are some of the 'higher' quality ones.

The 3 main ones I use are:

    1) EzineArticles
    2) Goarticles
    3) Buzzle

I don't know if it's just me or if other people get the same, but I seem to get more traffic from Buzzle than the others.

The good thing about articlebase.com is that the articles get indexed quickly, at least for me. I submitted yesterday an article and got approved within hours.. 3 hours after approval, i got to see that the article was indexed already showing in the 4 page in Google search for a specific keyword.

I totally agree... had the exact same experience w/articlebase - but like netfq stated earlier if you want incredible traffic thats fire definitely go/w buzzle + ezine...

Goarticles.com, Articledashboard.com, articlebase.com, etc. I think no single site is perfect. A site may be good for publishing a category of articles and another for the other.

I find buzzle.com come stricter because they don't accept online articles already published anywhere although they are competely your own.. do you have any experience to the contrary? like your articles were accepted/approved despite the fact that they were already published in other article directory sites..

ArticleBase is a decent option. The Alexa Ranking is #589, which is the 2nd highest of the article directories (with EzineArticles swooping in at #124).

Just to give you a little comparison as to how the rankings relate to some of the other article directories and blogging platforms, here's a list I've compiled (based on Alexa rankings):

    7. Blogger.com

    18. Wordpress.com

    76. Livejournal.com

    124. EzineArticles.com

    272. Hubpages.com

    304. Squidoo.com

    589. Articlesbase.com (ArticlesBase.com)

    607. Xanga.com

    1050. Weebly.com

    1271. Vox.com

    1471. Buzzle.com

    1877. GoArticles.com

    3439. ArticleAlley.com

    3763. ArticleDashboard.com

My guess is that with the restrictions being made over at EzineArticles these days, ArticleBase.com's ranking will go up drastically in the next few months (especially since Travis, Mr. Bum Marketing himself, is recommending ArticleBase to his followers).

It's also interesting to see how well some of the blogging and web 2.0 networks are ranking. Perhaps it's time for people to take a closer look at using these sites (properly) in place of EzineArticles as well.

    Have fun!

ArticleBase wouldn't help much in increasing PageRank because it's an "RelNoFollow" directory, but it's okay in driving traffic right?

This is correct. Which is why Travis Sago is recommending it to article marketers.
If you're looking for backlinks GoArticles, Buzzle or ArticleDashboard might be better options.

You are correct; Google will not give you pagerank juice via "nofollow" links. However Google will still add weight (obviously not as much as a follow link) to the link so don't discount them...

Any link to your site, regardless of if it's "nofollow" or "follow" .. it all helps!

Be very careful using Alexa rank as a means of judging websites as it is VERY misleading.

The Alexa rank includes traffic from any and all subdomains listed under a root URL and combines it into one stat.

For both Blogger and Wordpress.com this is the case. That means that even if you submit your content there, being that Google currently considers subdomains as separate websites, it will send (or not) traffic to them accordingly.

Personally, I would waste my time with either.

Therefore, you can submit your content to a site with an Excellent AR and still get no SEO value, hence no traffic, hence no conversions, hence 0$.

      FWIW.

    Amazines.

ArticlesBase and Article Alley are no follow but I've had some incredible rankings with Articles Base so I woudl reccomened this regardless.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are using articlebase.com only for backlinks do not waste your time because it is a nofollow directory.

However if you want to try and get the article itself to rank high in Google then articlebase might be worth your time.

Where are you getting that information because I don't see how that is true. I use a Firefox addon that shows every NO FOLLOW link highlighted in pink and I can clearly see that the resource box in every articlebase.com article is a DO FOLLOW link. I also use a WP plugin for a few of my sites that takes articles from articlebase.com and all the links in the body of the articles are DO FOLLOW too.

Check your plugin/addon - Articlesbase's links are nofollow. Here is the resource box from the page source code I took from a random article:

        <div class="author-bio">
        <div class="image"><img src="http://images.articlesbase.com/author_blue.gif" class="author-img" alt="Adriana N" /></div>

Then be sure to visit <a rel="nofollow" onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.hirevic.com," target="_blank">www.hirevic.com,</a> Vic Singh's personal blog and website about <a rel="nofollow" onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.hirevic.com">Brampton homes</a> and condos.</div>

You are absolutely right! Apparently I didn't give the page enough time to load before to be able to see that the resource links are NO FOLLOW. My mistake. However, the paid-for WP plugin (I think its called 'Automatic Blogger' or 'Automatic Blogging') I've been using converts all the links to DO FOLLOW even though the day I purchased it it clearly stated in the WSO description that all the links in the articles would be NO FOLLOW.

Depends on your goals - traffic or links, or both. As for me, I've got the best results in terms of traffic from articlebase.com, though links are no follow. And some directories have restrictions for the links and type of content. Check their traffic stats and policies before choosing the one you need.
