Trying to Take Out Established EzineArticle On Page1 of google - Shall I not bother?

Hi warriors...am looking for some help and advice from those of you whom are perhaps experts in article marketing, more specifically ezinearticles...

I have good understanding and experience, but puzzled slightly

Recently for one of the competitive keywords I want to rank for I google via article marketing (more specifically ezinearticles)...Their are already TWO established and well ranked articles already .I have oticed similar competitive articles appear for the search term but only when clicking the option with that google search result 'More results from ezine articles' - something like that anyway

Now my understanding is that the better the backlinks , content and keywords within the article will all aid you to rank higher vs your competitors...

however when looking further into it the more established articles and ones out performing competitors have nothing great in terms of backlinks!...yet others may be better with link juice

So what am I missing?..is it the age of article that comes to play?..like first come first served....finders keepers ?!...do ratings and views within ezine articles manipulate the actual google search engine placement...

Why do google choose to show the first to Vs others?

If I knew that, I'd be a millionaire.

It's more Google's decision than has anything to do with EZA. If the current highly ranking articles don't seem to have a lot of on or off page SEO, then GO FOR IT!

    Good luck and KEEP WRITING,

Make the article more relevant than your competition and be the first person to rank for it (which you can't at this point).

If 2 EZA articles are ranking well for your term already try submitting your article to a different directory like goarticles or articlebase and send a bunch of backlinks to it.

I think it will be easier to knock of an EZA article with an article on a different site.

Interesting, I didn't even think that would be feasible...

See this is the confusing bit , I have tried this.backlinking my articles to take out less superior backlinked articles of the top spot.but it doesn't seem to work...Sometimes I wonder if it is the age that matters...maybe that is what google sees....

For one you will not find out all their backlink methods because there is no system (not even google) that can track all backlinks. Competitive or not still pretty easy to kick them off the front page all together.

Related does matter to some degree but not 100% ... Having more backlinks does also matter. Main important thing though is the proper use of those keywords.

As for the age, I do not think that has anything to do with it but I am not google either. I do know I kick eza off the front page all the time...

I would disagree and say that age does play a factor.

Age of page, site and age of backlinks.

Google is keeping track of 200+ factors to determine ranking. Is age one of them? Nobody can say for sure but I do think it does play a role.

Google is only going to show a certain number of results on a page from a domain.

Google doesn't care that EZA is an article site with articles from thousands of different authors, all google cares about is the domain and only showing a max number of results from that domain per page. I think that limit is 2 per page. This eliminates single sites from dominating the entire top 10.

Goolge has already selected 2 articles from EZA that it likes the most and shows those, everybody else is stuck in the 'show more results' pile.

You are probably better off using a different article site. This will at least remove the EZA overcrowding issue. The rest is down to your SEO wizardry.
