I've been doing some profile backlinks. The ones where you go to high authority domains and enter your profile details and your web site as a backlink.

How long does Google take to notice the new backlink please?
#search engine optimization #backlinks #google #long #notice
  • If you want to know Google notice to you about new backlink, you can check it periodically through Google console, and then find the link menu section, and then hit that menu.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It completely depends upon the relevancy and keywords you are using in your content.

  • Probably never, as they are useless spam links.

  • Those links are trash. It doesn't matter what the "authority" of the domain is. The page your links are on are weak AF because there is no link path from the home page to your profile.

Total and utter waste of time.

To answer your original question, somewhere between right away and never. In the case of profile links, probably closer to never.

  • Thanks for this thread I also want to know the answer but your post help me to know the answer of my question
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It depends on the quality of links and the domain authority and page authority. If the domain authority and page authority is less than 50 then it will take time as well as there are chances that your website's rank will go down or it will be counted as low-quality links.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It can take anywhere up to 10 weeks on average to see backlinks increase a page ranking. So the effect might take a while, but a good link building should give you positive results like you gradually climbing the SERP table. In my experience, this number is very much maximum waiting time.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Also depends on the size of your website, since google only has a limited crawling budget for each site.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Don't wait to notice your backlinks because Google will only ignore those links because of its intentional manipulation of rankings.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • As others have stated, NEVER would be the answer to your question. Well ... more precisely, they'd notice profile links in anywhere from 1 day to 30 days but ignore them immediately afterward.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • yes its depends as the others say you cannot see the live results of them and you have to wait to see them appear in the search console
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • To check your website new backlinks, you can use Google search console!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It depends on the quality of links and the relevancy and keywords you are using in your content domain authority and page authority. If the domain authority and page authority is less than 30 then it will take time.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • There's not one definitive or correct answer, but if the backlinks are do-follow from good authority, then chances are high to get recognize your backlink in a couple of days. Generally, in my recent experience, it takes more than 60 days to list backlinks in webmaster tools.

  • It depends on where you put.
High rank website (behance, 500px..), backlinks come back very fast within 10 days.
Some backlinks take a year to show on google console.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It depends on the rate at which the pages are crawled by the Google bot. When your links are placed on pages that are constantly crawled by Google, the links will index faster.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It depends on the website where the backlink is coming from and it depends on the kind of backlink.

You need to understand this before I can throw in the answer.

Site where link is coming from:

There is something called Domain Authority. The domain authority of a website determines how the website is crawled.

A website with high domain authority is indexed and ranked more faster than sites with lower domain authority.

    The Kind of backlink:

Is the link a do-follow link or a no-follow link?

Do follow links just as the name implies tells google to crawl the link.

A no follow link tells google not to crawl the link.

How long does it take for Google to crawl and index my backlinks?

If you have a do-follow link from a site with high domain authority, it takes fewer time. Maybe 1-3 days.

If you have a no-follow link from a site with high domain authority; maybe you will never get a crawl (I'm not certain here).

If you have a do-follow link from a site with low domain authority, it takes long to get indexed. Maybe two weeks or 3 months.

If you have a no-follow link from a site with low domain authority. you may never get indexed (i'm not certain here too).

I hope you get the logic.
  • This is a great question and may not have a definitive answer. Sometimes right away, or sometimes it may take a while. If you leave a backlink on a high traffic site, it should show up almost immediately. I remember the old days where it may show up the next day by pinging, submitting a google request, etc. Even No Follow links show up these days. Just really depends. Whats cute about the linking process is once you start generating traffic, doing SEO, you start seeing links you do not even leave because people are sharing and leaving links on their own. I would not worry about the one link, instead keep building your site , getting traffic and all kinds of links will start poppong up naturally/
  • Honestly speaking, there's not one definitive or correct answer, but if the backlinks are do-follow from good authority, then chances are high to get recognize your backlink in a couple of days.
  • It depends on your backlink quality. If it is high-quality links, it takes more than just getting indexed. But Profile links have fewer chances to index in Google.
To check the new website backlinks you can see in Google Search Console.
  • Don't know whether I am right or wrong! But I guess backlinks are noticed very soon by G. There are tools available that keep on telling you when new baclink added and when removed or modified. However, its not necessary that these links are visible on Alexa.

I guess in few days time backlinks are observed by G. But yes, authority matters and so better to have them of quality.

  • When you published new content or unique content, this will lead to giving a backlink and Google noticed you!
  • Google takes a few days to notice new backlinks. You can also index them through different ping submission sites available online.
  • Hi Mike,

High-quality backlinks take more than getting indexed. Google takes this backlink to indexed depends on our site rating. You can find whether the link is indexed or not using

    1. Google search console
    2. Ahref
    3. Semrush
  • I think backlinks are intended to manipulate google. So if you notice that the page has been indexed, it implies that the backlinks have worked for you. In some cases, they may not work.

  • My case, the backlinks return around 2 weeks.
It's hard to understand the google, some backlinks just came back that built 5 years ago.
  • If I have to guese it depends on how popular your site is or what domain authority you have. The more popular your site is the faster it will get crawled and the quicker new links will be discovered. But im just guesing.
  • Hey! Hey!

In my experience, backlinks are detected by Google the better they are. This can be in a few hours or days.

However, other backlinks of lower quality or deeper in terms of URL, can take several weeks or even months.

  • It takes a few days for a new link to get indexed but it really depends on the quality of the links.
  • Well It depends upon the referring website authority, page content authenticity and structure of your website. Normally Google Indexed High Quality backlinks quickly while it might take some time to show up in search console
  • It all depends on the sites the backlinks are placed on, whether or not those sites are crawled by Google, and how fast they indexed. On average, links begin to index within 2-3 weeks time. If you'd like to speed up the process of link indexation, you may consider using a service such as Lindexed.
  • Completely depends on Google and the domain from which you have created the profile. But if you want to check the indexing of your profile page in Google, you can use this Google operator and search for: "site:your complete profile URL"
