Redirect Expired Domain or Not?

I just bought a domain with very strong backlinks.

Should I redirect to main site (same topic) or use the domain to build a new content site and then promote my site on that site?

What would you do and why?

If you know how, then recreate the old site.
If not, then just redirect it. It'll still help a lot.

It is preferred to use the old website which has strong backlinks.

Redirect old domain to new one. This helps the new domain gain traffic over a period of time.

    Both working well.
The extra benefit of create a landing page is it can link to a few more sites.
Many people indeed catching expired domain with PA DA and then selling links on forum.

to main page so you can check if it works well for you,
if yes, you can create a new web and try to test it there.

just make sure its the same niche

Domain age matters. If you can continue with old site it will be better.

Redirect it if the new domain name relates to your current website. For example usedcarsforsale.com to your site carsdirect.com but if it's a domain that is completely off like housesforsaleincalifornia.com, then make a new website.

Please do not redirect, it is highly risky. Better make a blog and slowly grow its authority.

I don't suggest to do redirect if you want to run your main site for a long time. Because there is a chance to get a penalty although all the metrics are good.

You do realize that sooner or later backlinks will dematerialize
not to mention that people who has been redirected to your
"shoe store" site are looking for home appliances thus would stick
around for as long as it will take them to hit back button?

why you want to frested with the typical things if you a new domain who has already strong backlinks you should start with that a site, it gives you benefit and already establish website where you don't have to do so much affords to build. and you can use redirect methods so you can connect both.
