  • Making the page rank and backlink connection. Anyone care to comment on what they look for when selecting sites for backlink purposes? I haven't found much about this. I tend to try to find sites with page rank 3 or above before I post a backlink, but maybe sites with pagerank below 3 can help with off page seo too.

    • For me its a combination of PR and time it takes to put a link.

Example. If I putting some backlinks on sites from Terry Kyle's WSO, where all of the links are on the same platform, and they are very easy to put up (i.e., only a couple of steps), and there is IP diversity among the sites, I'll pretty much put up my links on any site with any PR. If it only takes me 30 seconds to put up the link and there is IP diversity, i'll do it no matter the PR.

If the sites are different platforms (e.g., Angela's links), generaly PR5+.
  • thanks a lot. i used google or yahoo for check the back links but its looking cool

  • what is a good number of backlinks? 100, 200, 1000....
    • [1] reply
    • As many as it takes to get to the position in the search engines that you want to be. For very low competition keywords it could be like zero, and for high competition it could be like 10k+.
  • I tend to use Yahoo Site Explorer.
