Hi Guys

Can anybody explain my topsy-turvey pages rankings on google? I create pages and blog posts full of KW researched words and phrases, images, text, and video. I post and get indexed by google. When I start to track rankings I get a little despondent.

On a day to day basis, many of my pages go up 150 spots, great the following day down 70 bad, then up 50 spots then down 120 spots then up 150 spots??? sometimes even out the top 200. Can anybody explain this? There seems no stability, even after some time after indexing?

  • I don't think anybody can give you a definitive answer other than the "Google Dance" (they try new pages in different spots to see their user metrics vs the other already ranking pages before finally settling on where they think it needs to be ranked right now).

    Also, you will get different results depending on the device you are using and whether or not you are logged-in to your Google account for any property.

  • Rankings on Google is not permanent so expect some decreased and increase with the positions in the search results. We all know Google changes its algorithms everyday so there is nothing new about it. Just make your website for the target users.

    • I think I have done all that you say.. The rankings are far far too erratic over quite a long period of time.

  • It sounds like your pages may have some gimmicky SEO in them that causes Google to "false positive" them. Unfortunately for you, Google is truly editing its algorithm daily (even if there is no major announcement, edits are truly pushed on a daily basis, some large some small). The swings are probably due to changes made daily which identify your SEO which is actually a bit gimmicky and pushes it back down the ranking ladder.

    What does "full of" mean? I wonder if keyword stuffing is possibly an issue for you? Also, your off-page picture does need to look natural as that could also have an impact on how your content is being evaluated by the algorithm.

      Thanks for your assessment but I would say there is nothing gimmicky that I am aware of. I have all the current SEO requirements on my pages as per the general consensus from the webs SEO experts. This is also helped by the Yoast plugin.

    Google traffic, and the online business world, are best observed month to month and year to year. Focus on monthly outcomes and let go checking day to day stats because everything fluctuates. You will be more successful, you will focus on the process, and you will sleep better buddy.

  • It is normal that ranking fluctuate, focus on your work and they should stabilize after time.
  • It is most hard task for stability keyword ranking in organic search.
  • This may be happen due to the Google algorithm update. Google continuously trying to improve it self Due to this many sites notice this up and down curve.You just focus on your quality work.
