Why is Adsense putting PSA on my site?

I have have sites before and never had this problem.

I have. Bottom Freezer Refrigerators it is getting nothing but PSA. I cant figure out why.

Yes it is new. Yes it is not ranked yet. But I have always had day 1 ads placed on my site before.

The only thing different this time was that this time I bought the domain at go daddy first then went to hostgator. I have never done this before. have do strictly go daddy or strictly hostgator but never both.

I did direct the dns and I did do the add on. I have it set up to view public. Any ideas what it going on?

Really this is just a waste of time and effort if it does nothing but PSA. Of course go daddy and hostgator is no help. They both say everything is fine. Please e-mail me PM me. skype me sherri haggard what ever this really bothers me to no end.

I am a good article writer too (Ezine standards) if someone is willing to trouble shoot we might be able to work something out in article writing.

There's plenty of content. Give it a few days and let it get indexed. Have you checked to see how many ads are placed for this topic? A search in google shows only three ads on the right for that specific keyword.

You might try section targeting if it doesn't resolve in a couple days.

see i was thinking that i should be getting at least crap irrelevant content

the site is brand new. just made it today. (last night)

I have never had a problem with no ads displaying before.

the real problem is that I copy and pasted the code from a site I know performs and gets good ads and it still pulled up those PSA.

it really was weird because normally I get instant good ads.

I think its because you're using brand names on your site
and the things that stands out the most is the BRANDs
of the fridges which are trademarked.

Lower the ads a bit, in between content and see what happens.

I could be wrong, but, in my experience, on site words determine what
    gets displayed.

    example:
I have a weight loss site and my main title and most
of the content had "Burn Body Fat" google did not like
it and I got only PSA. I then changed the words to
"Lose Body Fat" and normal ads began to run.

Do some testing while your site is new, btw, I would add
    ebay ads to this site.

thanks I will take out the brand names and see if that helps
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1331774].message }}
  • It's nothing to do with brand names.

Either Google is just slow crawling the site with the AdBot, or there is some sort of conflict with your ads. I noticed you have an "ad slot" number. That means you created the ads in Adsense originally. If you 'cut & pasted' that from another site, you might be having a disparity between your original ads and their content being different from this site.

Try creating a 'generic' ad and pasting it in.

You can also try 'section targeting' to make sure Google reads the content correctly. Try bracketing your content with this:

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

      Hi shaggard,

I took a quick look at your site and noticed a number of things that you should address.
      1. Remove ad units from the privacy page.
      2. Make your DoubleClick DART Cookie opt out link in the privacy policy hot linked.
      3. Add contact information to your privacy page or preferably a link to a contact page.
      4. Create separate pages for each item and add links to those pages from the homepage.
      5. Add a contact information page or add contact information to the About Us page.
      6. Either remove the login link from your footer or add a TOS page for the site.

After you have made these improvements, wait a few days and you should see relevant ads begin to show. While waiting, focus on promoting targeted traffic for your advertisers.

You content seems awfully thin and may not pass a human review. I recommend that you ad some product specs or just a bit more detail to encourage advertisers to do placements.

i am n the process of adding content. this is a ver new page. but it is just odd. I have always had ads from day one. i have never had PSAs like this. Of course, I have never bought a go daddy domain and put it on a host gator before.

i think i might know what is going on. think it might be host gator here. think it is host gator that is the prob

I had this happen when I tried to setup Adsense even on an established website, but installed in a new wordpress. The problem went away after 24 hours or so. Just takes a bit of time for them to crawl it.

      Hi shaggard,

Since this is a Wordpress CMS I will assume that you used an automatic script installer like Fantastico. The latest versions of these script installers use default privacy settings that block search engine bots. Check your privacy settings in Wordpress if you haven't already done so.

This just happened to me today on one of

my new niche sites. Went to my adsense account

and saw a message where they wanted to verify

my phone number on my account for security reasons.

As soon as I verified my phone number my ads showed

up that were relevant to my site in about 15 minutes. You

might check your account and see if you have any messages.

my latest attempt was to go into adsense and manually go nd have it crawl my page by doing the whole setting the http user name and password thing. and protecting one page. that thing. But alas it still comes up with a PSA every time.

Can I throw the computer yet? I dont want to buy anymore domains if ths will be a problem.

All I can say is - relax.

Honestly, don't worry about it, it will correct itself. I know that is very easy for me to say, it's not my money making project... but I have been there, i have done that. About 2 months ago I was stressing because some new sites of mine were showing the public service ads for 3 days after creation - and one of them showed them on some pages for 5 or 6 days.

This worried me because previously the adsense ads had come straight away. i was panicing and asking everyone for advice. I was wrong.

Within a week every single page on the site had adsense adverts showing - all it needed was time. Use this time to start working on backlinks, on SEO or on a new site.

Good luck what ever you decide.

I did check the privacy setting and it is set to let google search.

    No messages at adsense either.

Since, I do have 2 other sites that are functioning. I will try to chill and work on them. Must relax and not freak out. I really need to get the others formatted right anyway. But this bothers me to no end.
