Meaning, just write a short snippet about what the video is about and embed just the YouTube video or podcast that's it.

Of course. First, you need to learn YouTube SEO. This is only possible if you have mastered it.

I think it'd be very hard to rank with just a short snippet and an embedded YouTube video. I guess it depends how 'short' you are talking about. I'd say the minimum word count in order to rank for decent keywords would be 350-500 words. Anything lower than that and your pages will be viewed as having too thin of content to receive any kind of organic search traffic. Google loves content, I'd personally recommend 1000+ words.

Hi, as you want to rank your website on google with the help of just videos and a few lines of content. Then first you have to know something about the content writing like keyword stuffing, the maximum amount of keyword stuffing in a single content, heading tags used in the content, etc. You should take care of all these things before writing content for your post. Because a protocol is followed by google is fully keyword based. If you entered a query "marshmallow" and there is very little content on your website then how google justify the topic of your posts like whether it is related to Android Marshmallow version or Marshmallow dish? So you have to write content that contains full information about the topic of the videos present on your website with your targeted keywords. It is best if you are able to write a content approx. 1000-1500 words. If not then go for a content writer.

It doesn't mean that you have 1000+ words in your page with embedded video then it will rank, Google's basis to rank a site is not only to number of words but if the content is short or long what matter's most is the content page really answers the users query?

Definitely, but scanning page 1 for many niches, you see virtually all rich, text blog posts. I suspect drilling down on your videos and ranking them through YouTube is a good approach, rather than devoting too much energy trying to go against the text-content-tide.

This depends entirely on the search. We are obviously searching opposite ends of the spectrum. I often get videos at the top of page one, when in fact, I wanted to read an article.

Furthermore, I recently found a post on page one which had zero content. No body at all. The post had a title, and the author must have forgot to come back and fill in the content. This did not stop it from landing on page one for the key phrase I had searched. So much for content being king and all that!

I do agree though, that a video could definitely rank on page one. However, the link will most likely be pointing to youtube, and not the page where it has been embedded (without a ton of help).

    Hi there,

It seems hard to rank a website just with the YouTube videos. There are a number of factors depends on the ranking. It includes On-Site SEO & Off-Site SEO. Without proper optimization of a website, you cannot except the desirable results.

It might. Even better, have each video or podcast transcribed and pasted below the podcast or video. That would be the best of both worlds.

Future promotion is based on reviews, videos, stories etc. So, matters not if your website just has videos, you can rank well. However, you need to master SEO as well. For instance you should make use of LSI, Longtail keywords in title, description of your videos. Similarly, you should know how to make titles that attract search engines and users equally.

You can see how simple it is to make any video viral instead of making any piece of content popular. It's simply because now if you are good at video marketing you are going to rule the world. Also, you should try tips to make your channel popular. This way you can rank your website with ease.

Not really, overall Google search results are based on Text content, Video do get higher priority but that because of YouTube and other major platform, I don't think it would matter a lot if you have a embedded video in your blog post.

I don't think it's easy to rank a website only with youtube videos unless you add some text based content at least 500 words per page.

Unless of course, you intent to provide a detailed overview of the video. The overview should be more than 300w. Otherwise, Google will ignore it.

According to my suggestion, you should not prefer youtube ads or any other paid ads because it charges high PPC and gives the result very normally but if we take an SEO as a tool to rank high we can surely be ranked on high. Paid ads will give you business leads but for a limited time.
