How do you see the results of backlinks?

Backlinkers say it takes 45 days to see the effects of back linking. Also sites like Link Management shows when you punch in a kw how many links, time and cost it will take to rank on page one for that kw. Since no one owns google how can they know or guarantee this?

Also, is there any tool which shows the results of a backlink traffic-wise please or this just a guessing game?

You can check manually if the link is live or not. And there is no specific time for a backlink to take effect.

That Link Management thing sounds like an outright scam. Links are not equal, so you cannot possibly put a number on it.

It does not take 45 days to see the effects of a link. It takes basically however long it takes Google to discover and index the link. Might be a few hours. Might be a few weeks.

As far as seeing traffic results from a link, look at your referral traffic in Analytics. See how many visitors you got from the site you put the link on.

Great info, thanks guys! I will looking the referral traffic in a while and get back to you.

Meantime, I would like to ask on backlinking from high DA sites. Which would produce better results, a link from a massive site like Amazon with a DA of 95 for example or a link from a FREE site like Apple Maps which shows a DA of 100?

Neither. DA is a horrible indicator of link strength. Unless your link is on the home page, which it won't be, it's useless. It tells you absolutely nothing about the strength of the page your link is going to be on.

Anyone selling links based on DA, is either incompetent or a scam artist.

The links you are talking about are going to be extremely weak. Links are only as strong as the backlink profile of the page they are on. The rest of the domain doesn't matter. In this case, those pages are going to have a non-existent link profile, so any links off of them are going to be very weak, nearly worthless.

DA can be useless..... I have seen those viagra sites with DA of 40 or even 50.... But the backlinks are from comments and profile links.

there is no guarantee of how much time it will take to rank.. according to google you should give 6 months to 1 year time to your SEO guy (read the google's seo guide).. soo it most likely to rank in this time but still no guarantee..

You should check if links are indexed in google and then watch the improvements in the ranking.. you can use google search console to see the improvements on linked keywords..

ahref is a google source to watch your competitors backlinks and to figure out how much efforts you need to put on your website to rank in top results

Although the results of backlinks are visible after certain point of time, still there are tools available to help you get known to the impact. Tools like Monitor Backlinks, Alexa etc show the impact, still you can get a feel of quality backlinks by increase in traffic, more calls and sometimes leads. Thus, its more important to keep on building quality backlinks without caring for anything else.

Monitor Backlinks and Alexa do not show the impact of links. That is bullshit.

  • It takes a few days for a new link to get indexed. The results indicate that a single backlink takes an average of 10 weeks to push a page a rank higher on Google. If you're fortunate enough to gain several links at once, you have a higher chance of outranking other pages at an exponential rate.

I am however seeing Referrals in Analytify Plugin on a new site I have started SEO on. Please see attached image of a screenshot.

This is the 2nd month of SEO, those stats are for the last 30 days. I had paid a guy to post backlinks on 20 High DA sites for the last 2 months. Looking at the Top Referrers in the screenshot, does this mean that ZERO traffic has come from the 40 backlinks over the past 2 months?

Also what's the [direct] [none] stat please?

Thanks, referral for the past 30 days is only showing 2 items, one from yelp and the other from FB, does this mean not a single traffic is coming from the monthly backlinking? If the answer is yes, that means all traffic is coming strictly from the monthly blogs?

It means that nobody saw one of those links and clicked on it. The links could still be supporting search rankings and bringing traffic that way, but yeah zero visitors traveled to your site from one of those links.

Not really surprising considering the type of links you said you were getting. Like I said, those "high DA" links are all bullshit on pages with no authority and no traffic.

    https://moz.com/blog/find-competitor...nks-next-level

Most of the times I consult Moz to find the answer to my question. Here are the steps from the said article:

Step 1: Navigate to Link Explorer
Step 2: Enter your competitor's URL
Step 3: Navigate to the "Inbound Links" tab
Step 4: Export backlink data into .csv
Step 5: Compile backlink .csv results from all competitors
Step 6: Sort all backlinks by Page Authority
Step 7: Review all linking sites for opportunities

As a minimal, backlinks from sites with malware and/or blacklisted are without question detrimental to any site in every sense of successful SEO.

It's a guessing game. Even you can do a comparative analysis of links in Moz and see where a website stands against its competitors. If a webpage has 70 links and you have 10 links. You just get an idea how many links you need.
But there is catch. You need to consider many other factors for ranking as well.Quality of backlinks, anchor text, unique domains, same niche etc as well.

As far as I am aware no tool is to tell about traffic value per link.

The more the page is busy from which you are getting backlink, the more the fast the backlink will be shown to you.
For example - suppose you create a backlink on a blog that is not shared, not even read by anyone. So it will be crawled by Google only by its natural algorithm whenever it gets chance.

On other hand if a blog is shared multiple times in few days or their is lot of engagements on the page it gets into the eye of google immediately. So that is counted immediately and you get the benefit of that backlink very fast.

So it is always recommended to market your content as much as possible.

Be skeptical about 10% of what you read about SEO and ranking. Then ignore the other 90%. There are so many persistent myths and bogus claims about SEO that it's difficult to navigate the maze between fact and profit-driven fiction. Be especially skepitcal about anything that promises top 10 ranking or page 1 ranking.

Once you become more familiar with the players in the SEO industry, it becomes a little easier to know who to believe and who to LOL at.

I can't understand why people use DA, PA and all other stats... google doesn't care about those stats and it's very easy to manipulate them.

As for the links... I did a test a few years ago and from the test I'd say google doesn't improve your ranking right after it discovers a new link, it takes time. But there are so many factors in play so it's tough to be certain.
