I noticed forums and blog show up alot in google search but not social media content like posts, comments, and pictures/videos. Why don't social media content like these show up in google search results?

The only social media content i seen displayed in google are forum posts like facebook forum. This leads me to believe forums are better in google than social networks.

Because a lot of social media does not allow google's bots to crawl.

Your social media content must be public for everyone. Besides you have to use hash tags based on your required keywords. When your target audience will be started to engage in your content and after being crawled by Google crawler, your content should get rank.

Show me a search with an example of this actually working ( aside from YouTube ) The closest it gets for a Social platform to list on Google as far as I have ever seen is the user profile - have never seen "Content".

Sometimes google displays social media post in search results and it happens when the topic is trending and popular.

ok I stand corrected... However.. search "presidential twitter" and that type of listing is not present. I spend a ton of time "searching" and simply do not see those type of results.

If google began routinely including social media posts in results, I think google would be replaced by a competing search engine rather quickly.

Most of the results would be only topically or minimally related to the search being conducted. much would be opinion rather than fact and the 'value' of the info would have a short shelf life.

FB is said to post 2.5 billiion pieces of content per day - 500 terabytes of data daily....even google would probably seize up and cry 'uncle' if trying to organize that

Maybe there's room in the market for a new 'social media search engine'? Or does such a thing already exist?

ok so I have played with this a lot.. as in set up a script and ran through more than 1000 "Current" "Trending" and "Popular" searches and was UNABLE to replicate in a single case the Twitter box that appears if you search ( Financial Express ).

After the fire storm of tweets and its relevance in terms of Trending and popular I would have guessed fast food chains may have had these and searches like "Chick Fil A" or "Taco Bell" or "Popeyes Chicken Sandwich" did NOT

So in my eyes the twitter box for a term such as "Financial Express" becomes a bit of an anomaly to me.. very Kotton Grammer - ish. There is nothing trending, popular, or current about that business.

I did actually just find ( as in while writing this ) another Twitter Block, "Campbells Soup". BUT - because I "know", There may not be a Kotton Grammer behind THIS brand, but someone else as prolific.

Here is a piece to this puzzle however that needs noted. Google and Twitter do have an agreement in terms of Googles ability to scan Twitter ( https://searchengineland.com/everyth...nership-216892 ) in much the same way they must have an agreement with FaceBook. and any number of other Platforms. such as Instagram and LinkedIn and TicToc and whatever else.

The issue at hand in terms of SEO is.. what Value Google places on these things ( Social )? Even in this discussion about "Twitter" - its a BLOCK of Tweets at the Business name level and NOT at the INTENT level.

A search such as " how to make Campbell's green bean casserole " does not produce a single "social" ( except YouTube) link in the first 10 pages and it is VERY clear that long form content and Video wins the day.

So one has to better than assume "Social" signals are just short of non existent. 2 websites, one without Social Accounts and the WITH social accounts are on an even playing field in terms of SEO. in terms of Distribution of content? the 2 are worlds apart. Social SHOULD BE a part of your marketing effort, just NOT a part of your SEO marketing effort.
