Maybe your blog has been parsed and indexed by Google.
But, It may not have backlinks pointing to it.
Also, If your blog is new, it may take time to get backlinks and make the blog SEO optimized.
I'd suggest you do the on-page optimization correctly and then visit various forums to get backlinks to your blog.

Google Discover is a personalization function for its users. They surface content that they see as beneficial based on user behavior. You can't "rank" for this but if you do a good job anwering the right questions in your post and show that you are a topic authority based on E.A.T. guidelines, you'll have a greater chance to be selected for a relevant query.

It is my understanding that E.A.T. only really applies to YMYL sites.

YMYL is where they are most important. Google has been using elements of this for years starting with their attempt at authorship recognition. If you are a demonstrable authority in any market, even those outside of YMYL, you will get the same benefits.

This has been increasing trend across the web in the last couple of years and it's pretty interesting to follow.

What Google does to crack down on one area tends to end up being in others especially when Rankbrain makes up such a large component of search.
