Multiple Domains... question for SEO experts

I've read so many different things my brain is going to fry.

Regarding duplicate content:

I own dime-co.com, (article site/directory since 1998), and we're going through a major overhaul to be more SEO friendly etc.

Now - I own at least 70 other domains (more like 80 LOL) - with at least 60+ simply doing nothing.

My question:

Would it be practical to take the syndicated content from dime-co and plug certain topics onto the other domains, (i.e., businessandmarketing could be specifically business and marketing topics...)

OR,

Would it be better to get approval from the authors, and "spin" (human though) their articles to be not exactly the same, then put them up on the other sites, so that they don't and I don't get "slapped" for duplicate content?

Thinking ways of the most exposure for the authors, but also for my sites as well and to make USE of these 60+ domains that are just costing me money on domain renewals each year .

Your thoughts?

Amber

    Hi Amber,

first: 60 domains doing nothing? Shame on you LOL.
Unique content is best, but that depends on the domains you have and what you want to get out of them.

    Original contant not possible?
Rewrite with at least 40-50% unique, not very hard to achieve.

Again, it all depends on what you want to gain from those domains.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

    Regards,

    Mike

yeah, tell me about it LOL!

I just logged into my domain panel, and its 75 owned. With sites I "can't change" (corporate)... there's 1. There's about 5 others that have content up... (membership sites).

So basically that 60 comes closer to 70

Eesh. I never monetized them with adsense frankly because I have had no desire to do so. I put adsense up for a while and earned with it, but honestly earned more without it (selling my own ads on the main site).

Okay. I think I've got a plan on what to do then. Thanks.

If the content isn't the same (i.e., at least 50% unique), is it still okay to link to each other? I usually did and have (but not all, obviously, only a few to each other).

Yes, they sit on the same server. Some have dedicated IPs, but not all.

      Amber
