Sounds like switching involved changing urls.

This means you lost all backlinks.
What you have niw, as far as Google is concerned, is all brand new pages.

Change the urls back to what you had, best option; create 301 redirects, 2nd best.

If your old site was lighter in code, this is also a ranking factor. The google spider does not want to have to choke down a lot of code just to find out what your pages are about.



I have not seen the actual code size of your particular site, but if I remember just generally speaking, Wix sites are code-heavy.

There could be a couple things at play... #1 what DABK has described, and #2 You have created a "Mobile Site" and NOT a responsive one. The first thing I would look at it how is it ranking from a search on a "Mobile" device?

Under what would be "Normal" circumstances you would create a "Mobile" site and place that in a separate folder - so that is stand alone if you will. you would then place a piece of code in the header that checks for "Mobile" users vs "Desktop" and then sends the visitor in the right direction. In essence you would be replicating the same site for separate use applications.

I suspect what you have may have done is allocated your site as "Mobile" and Desktop users are using the same page. In the world of Google there are separate algorithms for "Mobile" and "Desktop" So you have indicated to Google that your site is now "Mobile", hence the loss of rank.

I think I might be looking to back up all of your work on the mobile site.. and then replace your current site config with one that hopefully you saved prior to the switch over and bring back the original "Desktop" site. THEN I would figure exactly what you need to do to implement the "Mobile" site in addition to your existing "Desktop" site.

Wix is easy to use, but NOT the best tool for creating websites. It has improved its interface and SEO features, but I still don't consider it suitable for business sites or when money is involved (professional blogging, etc).



I personally use SELF-HOSTED WordPress for almost all my websites, from blogs to business sites. It's the easiest platform for creating websites. With responsive WordPress themes, you don't even have to worry about having a mobile site. In the old days, we used to have mobile version of websites so that they could load easily. Now, one common site should work across all devices.
