Back-Linking Options?

I used article directories, web 2, profile pages and forums for back-linking some years ago.
Now I am back and have 2 questions:

1. Are the back-links still the most powerful methods in SEO?
2. How and where to place articles with back-links?

Things have changed a lot. None of those methods will do anything to help your rankings these days (although they might generate some traffic).

You do not "build" links anymore - if you can place a link, yourself, it is generally worthless for SEO. You create things that other sites will WANT TO link to and you reach out to sites that like to link to that type of content, letting them know that their site visitors might appreciate it.

There is no absolute consensus that backlinks are the MOST powerful method for getting ranked (although most people still believe they are). Google has stated that the three main factors that affect website rankings are backlinks, the relationship between the content on a page and the user's query (which sometimes can be shorter content and sometimes need to be much more comprehensive) and user engagement signals (number of clicks, time on page, time on site, etc.).

    1. Are the back-links still the most powerful methods in SEO?
ans: of curse It is a most powerful method to rank your site. back-links will do step by step ranking your site but back-links is not first or primary method. when you start a website and you need to rank website of any particular keyword on google search result page.your first or primary work to do on-page seo after completing on-page seo then you submit your website from google search console when this all type work will done then you start back-links to rank your site. if you do huge back-links it is easy to rank your website on google search result page
    2. How and where to place articles with back-links?
ans: you should to save your back-links step by step with all details such username website link, selected link, after complete conformation link, this all type details you should to save step by step.I recommend that you use google sheet it is easy to save full information step by step.

I hope you read carefully and solve your problem. thank you

If you find these places, your primary goal should be user engagement. What NOT to do: "Great blog! You can have all of your dreams come true by voting for Pedro and going to suchandsuch.com now!"
What TO do: Target areas that have a large user engagement and are relevant to what you have to offer. Contribute in a substantial and meaningful way such that anyone reading would be mad not to appreciate what you shared. They may be compelled to go where you direct if it is helpful; or, at the very least, you are building your name as a trusted resource.

  • Hey Andy,

You'll find that the linking methods you've mentioned above are probably the weakest and spammiest kind of links you can be building out there in the market.

One of the best things you can do is create QUALITY content that people want to link too naturally which you can push out via social media, email or other forms of communication.

With that said, it can be hard to get things started when you're starting from zero so there is platforms out there where you can look to connect to publishers and buy guest posts on which allow for backlinks to be placed within the content i.e NO-BS Marketplace, Authority Builders and the like.

If you have any questions on how that works - just reach out

Backlink/ off-page activity is the second most important technique in SEO after on-page. My personal suggestion, don't focus more on article directories & web 2.0.

There are many different activities that you should do in 2020. For SEO friendly backlink profile you have to focus on below activities.

SEO friendly backlinks help you to improve keyword rankings in minimum time span.

    • Guest Posting from Relevant and High Domain Authority
    • Concentrate on Contextual Links
    • Social Signal for Published Content
    • Links from Different Referring Domains
    • Links from TLDs
    • Generate content for Rich Snippet
    • Citation Building for Local Businesses
    • Participate on Discussion Platforms

Now, you must only get back-links from sites with Domain Authority of 20+ and content related to yours.

And, as others are saying, make sure your content is very high quality. Articles should be around 2,400 words+ to have enough expert content to rank well.

Back-links can be made in a variety of ways including guest posting, blog commenting, etc. and you need to get a related amount of social-signals (likes and shares on social media) so that Google knows people like your content.

I'm not sure I agree with any of this except, perhaps, guest posting.

Domain authority is a made-up parameter - Google pays no attention at all to some invented scores that other companies have created. Instead, pay attention to websites that rank well - backlinks from them are the ones that will help you rank well (you don't need an artificial score to show you that).

Blog commenting does ZERO to help you rank well.

Social signals do nothing at all to help you rank. They are easily manipulated and Google does not pay any attention to them.

An arbitrary number of words that you need to write is ridiculous. You need to write as many as it takes to cover a subject. Sometimes, that may be 20 words, sometimes it may be 2,000. Pay attention to what is already ranking well for any given keyword phrase and let that be your guide for the number of words and overall content quality that is needed.

  • It's a very important question to understand. Many people will say it's worthy to do backlinking and many will say backlinks don't work anymore. But the exact answer is the combination of both the statements. Backlinks still work when implemented correctly as it boosts your Domain Authority and helps your website to rank better in the SERP. So try to get your backlink from the trustworthy sites no spamming will be entertained when it comes to backlinking and Google also penalizes your website in terms of ranking so you have to be pretty cautious while implementing backlinking. There are a number of tools that will help you remove toxic backlinks from your website. Just look out for the spam links and remove them from your website.

Backlinks are still very important for ranking but there are good and there are bad backlinks. Good backlinks are links from domains with a DA higher than 30 and the link embedded in a text about the same topics as the page the links point to. Bad links are links from domains with a DA lower than 30 - they a usually worthless.

Check all the business directories on Alexa before posting your links on it. Some business directories can actually affect you negative. I posted an article few months ago. The website where i posted it, it was great looking, it had mo ads, no porn, nothing. So i thought my article would do well. Few weeks later i did a backlink search on SEMrush and it came up as "highly risky".

I used few other SEO programs to check the links and it all came with alarm bells. So i decided to send it to disavow and i sorted the problem.

Good contet with a link posted in a decent blog/website, will do well. Some ads posting websites are still working well. Forums, comments & social media can also give you a boost

Building backlinks is still one of the most effective ways to increase SEO rankings and traffic to your website. Although, the backlinks you build should be quality backlinks make sure of that because as of now only white hat or say ethical link building methods are effective. You cannot beg for or steal quality backlinks you have to earn them to boost your rankings.

Yes backlinks are still the core factor of ranking. Its necessary to have good backlinks if you want to see you webpage in the first page of the search results for your targeted keywords.

You can do guest posting for publishing articles on High DA Websites. Most of these websites have their own rule of adding backlinks. I guess at most they allow two backlinks in the article!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11595136].message }}
  • You could also look at advertorials where you pay to get an article published at a popular news media with high DA. The price starts at 100$.
Although it´s against Googles rules to buy links, if you do it slowly and in useful articles, you should be safe.

    1. Are backlinks the most powerful method in SEO..? They are one of them but will be useless without good on page SEO as well. The two have to be treated equally in terms of importance.

    2. Where do you post article for backlinks..? The ideal is obviously to create great content that attracts links naturally. Easier said than done and typically your site already needs a massive following for this to be a reality. Best methods these days..

    a. Guest posting on relevant blogs
    b. Press releases
    c. Creating shareable content like infographics.
    d. Reaching out to relevant sites for links to your best content.

New user here! What about links where a resources page only links to homepages? Here is the scenario: A local university has a resources page to businesses that they feel add value for their students.

We noticed they linked to a couple of competitors and reached out. They added us to their local resources page, with a link to our homepage. NOT a specific piece of content.

It is a .edu that has a high DA/DR. In this scenario, is there still value/benefit for a website?

.edu and high domain authority are not what linked to you. Your backlink comes from a page.

If that page has power (its own good backlinks) it has power to pass to those it links to.

If it links to several pages, that power is divided equally between those pages.

So, depending on how many good backlinks that page has, your SEO benefit is from next to 0.00000000001 to really good.

        You might make sakes, though.

And, of course, it linked to your home page.

They are presenting your company as a good resource.

Backlinks are still strong, as long as you're applying the right strategies.

Guest Posting is an effective backlink building strategy. In other words:
    • Search for sites that accept guest posts (blog articles) relevant to your niche
    • Email contact person and pitch 2-3 topics
    • If contact accepts, create blog(s) relevant
    • Optimize content with SEO
    • Add anchor text that points back to your website or specific page(s)

This might not be the popular however I find natural link building to be the most effective. Join forums, read articles, and make guest posts about the topic or topics your business is in. If you LOVE your business you should be seeking out these resources online anyway and then just add a link naturally to these resources as you read and come across them.

Social media is probably the biggest link building opportunity now a days. The older days it used to be directories, articles, blog comments, however sites like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest have really taken link building to a new level. And what search engines really like is when people share your materials on these social media outlets. They are called social signals.

When you naturally build your social media accounts you will receive these social signals and your link building efforts will take a life of their own because people will be constantly sharing and liking your material.
