How accurate is DA & PA? Isn't it just an invented metric that has nothing to do with GG PR?

Is it based on a real GG algorithm - or just something the SEO companies invented to give out something cleaver after GG made PR unpublic?

First, every SEO tool gives a different DA for the same domain.
2nd, reading in their documentation, this is nothing but a guess...

Am I missing something?

It's just an indicator put together by MOZ and the likes that gives you an insight into how Google MAY view a given domain after the abolishment of page rank.

To know the true value of a domain, you need to take a step further and see how it's doing in ranking and more.

With that been said, Moz cautions that DA isn't an absolute metric and I agree with them.

Agree, those are just an indicator metrics and just for references. Google doesn't use these metrics for ranking.

It has nothing to do with Google and neither Google nor any other search engine use it as a ranking metric.

What do you mean by how accurate? It depends with respect to whom you are asking. According to MOZ, its the most reliable metrics of all.

And if you ask Google. Then Google will ask you "What the hell is DA? And why should we care about it?"

I think DA and PA are Moz metrics not google ones. Moz is some changes for calculating the metric.

DA and PA are bullshit metrics made up by Moz in order to suck in noobs to buy their trash services. Simple as that.

Lol - Have you any clue? I use the free - as in FREE - Mozbar Chrome Extension to monitor my backlink progress and compare my domains to competitor domains. It´s an excellent free domain comparison tool.

Read before you write something. Mike mentioned the term BS its about the metrics not the browser extension or the backlink checker tool.

And more or less its you who doesn't have any clue about the English language.

Yes, DA and PA is accurate enough to be used by people making many millions doing SEO (it is a vital part of a top quality SEO course which has made over $3 million, by people who also do SEO themselves).

I use DA everyday to compare my linkbuilding progress to my other domains and my competitors domains - I couldn´t live without it ;-)

When checking a high quality website, you need to consider looking for the DA but that's just one of the metrics you need to look for. To make it more accurate or to safe to say that a domain is a quality, you need to check its TF,CF,PA, Toxicity, topical relevancy, and traffic.

I just love DA :-) It´s a great and free way to compare websites. It´s also great for monitoring your linkbuilding progress so you don´t work in the dark.
When I create 10 backlinks and see my DA going from 15 to 20, I´m a happy man. :-)

DA is pretty irrelevant. Moz as a company is pretty much dead.
