What is Wrong with Google's Keyword Planner

I've relied on the Keyword Planner for years. However, it seems like a majority of people think that the KW planner is not that great and prefer to go with other tools such as SemRush.

Should I go with other tools or should I stick with Google Keyword Planner? After all, it is Google - you think that they have the best analytics.

First point is other are charging for his services ..... while google is not.

Second and important point is others are also taking help of Google data to show keywords ...... Only format and process is a bit user friendly.

So according to me Google is best than other because he is boss ....... If need more to know about keywords search then Google trend is also available .... So need to compare only after some analysis and we will have list of best keywords to work on.

It depends on what you are after.

If all you care about is search volumes, the Google Keyword Planner is fine.

If you want more details, like if images show up in the SERP, if ads are running, or if a Google Snippet is displayed at the top, then you want to use something more advanced.

The REAL truth... regardless the "tool", its is ALL Google Keyword Planner data. The only thing that separates the "tools" from keyword planner is the added conceptualized information. DA and PA are "guesses". ease of rank scores only include a few variables and are speculations ( I have seen terms they are dead wrong but also pretty accurate )

I personally believe that the best tool is one that is driven by "real" data. And the only tool that can do this is Google Analytics. Unfortunately Google analytics is on the wrong side of development. Its useful AFTER a page has been built vs before.

I will make my best guess estimates using "tools" to find probable keyword targets and once they are developed and deployed I then use google Analytic data to refine those findings towards terms that have actual data behind probability of ranking.

    That's my take anyways

    Hope that Helps!

To get data keyword planner is still the best. To me to acquire the best result from keyword planner is to create a low budget campaign sometime. This will not only help you to see the data in detail but also help you to see some insight keywords that help a lot. I think Mr. Patel's ubersuggest is a great alternative tool for low budget, and of course, semrush is one of the bests.

Google is a Boss. So no need to compare other tools with Google Keyword Planner. It is best and accurate as usual.
