  • Yes. Google the business name in quotation marks and start counting.

    Why do you need that?

    • Certainly, this is not true! I don't think googling a companies name under quotation marks will give you the number of times it has been cited. Instead, it will give you same results you would get if you search the name of the company on Google.
  • Run the business name and address through Scrapebox. Exclude the URLs of the business website.

  • Just search for your business name in the search engine and you will find the number of a citation for your business. Apart from that, there are lots of tools available where you can find a list of backlinks from where you can check the citations to your business as well.

  • Thanks everyone. I was interested to know as I've been reading up on Google's 3 Pack and I understand the number of citations can have an effect.

    Thanks again,

    John

    • Citations are important. But why do you want to know how many?

Get as many as you can. And make sure the ones you get are correct... The same exact info.

  • Hello,

You can use the below syntax to check the citation -

"Business name" + "address" +" phone number"
"Business name" + "correct phone number" + "address"
"Correct phone number" + "correct partial address" + "old business name"
  • @ezrankings I agree with your answer, but if he use all three suggested search operators in Google, he will get only that citations where all three options are match. To check as many as citation, he should use generic Google operators.eg.

    "Business Name"
    or
    "Business Name" + "zip code"
    or
"Business Name" + "Business Phone Number
