Structed Data/Schema for Woocommerce Products (SEO)

If you use the default woocommerce products they show a warning in google search console as the structured data is not complete. This it not good for SEO.

I was wondering if anyone found a good solution/plugin to add structured data/ schema to woocommerce products so that the warning in GSC disappears? I tried out some free plugins with medium success. Not really happy with how they work.

In general: Are woocommerce products okay to target a certain keyword or would it be better to create a separate page/article for that keyword and than link to the shop page?

  • Can't speak to structured/data implementation via Wordpress/WooCommerce, but implementing it via Google Tag Manager is always an option and you can be sure Google will see it.

As for your general question, both. You want your product page to stand on its own with optimized content for searchers with purchase intent. Internal linking is a big one, and you'll always want to create content that matches search intent. This is basically creating a page for someone simply looking for information (how to, what is, when does) on your product niche with a link to relevant products (nofollowed).

In my view, it is better to take the help of https://schema.org website. It has all the tags with the example of all the markup data. Please check https://schema.org/Product and https://schema.org/Review pages. It has a wonderful explanation of all the tags and it's meaning with live examples of how to convert your HTML data into markup data.

Apart from that about your queries or separate product page/article for keywords, I would suggest you use keywords on both the product page and the article. You can link your article to relevant product page with keywords so that your website has good interlinking and it can be helpful for the user to reach the product page from the article itself.

Will I not get keyword cannibalization problems if I use the same keywords for the product page and the article?
