Why can't i outrank a low quality article?

Hello,

I had this article that was in 6th position two days ago, of all the articles that are on the first page, mine has the most valuable content, my website speed is the best among them, longer quality content.

Two days ago, I worked even more on my content, updated it added more values to it, it outranked three more competitors, and my article now is at 3rd position.

The article in the first position is a high DA with 730 words with dozens of good backlinks. Since my article has one backlink, I don't think I can't outrank it for the time being.

However, the article in 2nd position has 0 backlinks and has an article that it's 1000 words long.

My article has 2600 words, with 1 backlink and much better content, I'm not praising I'm just stating the facts.

One particular note on that 2nd position competing article is that it has been written in 2017 and their DA is much lower than mine.

Why i can't understand, is WHY the hell can't I outrank that 2nd position article considering the shitty stats it has?


Anybody has an idea why? I'd appreciate getting your expert's opinion.

    Hi! Actually, Google is a lot about user experience now. Have you checked the bounce rate of your article? This could be the issue. If browsers who click onto your article leave quickly, this signifies to Google that your article is not useful for the user. Even though the #2 website you are talking about has poorer content and was written in 2017, perhaps it served the reader better. Perhaps the website is cleaner, or it has better graphics in the article. Perhaps your article is too wordy. You will have to assess this!

    You so not understand is because you look at irrelevant stats.

    You keep mentioning length and say nothing about SEO.

    DA has absolutely nothing to do with rankings and certainly nothing to do with an internal page you are competing against.

    The number of links is not what matters. What matters is the quality of links, and that includes internal links. Also, no link tracker out there will find all of the links, especially Moz's shitty service. There may be links you are not aware of.

    How many words you have on your page does not matter.

    Everything you are looking at has nothing to do with rankings.

    Its not just about creating the content but also marketing it well enough. You need to focus on both On-page and Off-page SEO in order to enhance your presence and outrank competitors.

    Most likely the article in the 2nd position are hiding their backlinks from backlink checkers and competitors

    The second ranked article may have readers clicking through to other articles and info on the site and perhaps other activities you can't see or don't know about.


    IMHO, If you're in 3rd place but you so desperately want to be in second place, your focus is on the wrong thing. I bet you have ;other aspects of your business more deserving of your time, instead of wasting it all on one tiny factor.


    Tomorrow you might end up in second place and the other one may drop to 4th place. The next day, you may be holding 6th place.
    It seems you're too busy picking up the coins and missing out on the paper money.

      It's just i see great potential with this article, and needs only one little push, but that got me thinking to diversify my pages!

    I would focus on publishing more content. Trying to boost a single article up one position can be a fool's errand. Be grateful that it ranks where it is. Then go publish more articles.

      That's what i keep doing, i'm publishing two articles per week, while trying to acquire more backlinks, is it wrong that i invest most of my backlinks on that article or should i spread them across multiple articles?
