What Am I Not Doing Right?

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here about my site and how it didn't seem to be ranking no matter what I did.

Most of the guys here gave me some pretty good advice, one of which was to niche down as my site was multi-niched then.

I've since niched down and chosen just one niche. However, the site still hardly gets traffic from search engines.

I get right visits on my best days.

Someone mentioned the site might have been blacklisted by Google, and I'm beginning to suspect this to be true.

I tried adding Google Adsense code, but the apace came up blank.

Would anyone be so kind enough and take a look at my site? At this point I don't even know what else to do.

I'll really appreciate this.

My URL is women all around .com

TIA.

    • To rank, you need SEO, that is to say, baclinks.

Not the kind you create yourself, the kind site owners give you, preferrably from their home page (usually it is the one with most backlinks).

The site is not blacklisted. You can do a site check here.
The site is indexed by Google and the results look good.

This is an old issue and here is a great place to start figuring out what you can do.

Blank AdSense ads typically appear on your website when you have incorrectly implemented your tags. However, if you're certain you've correctly implemented your ad tags, the blank ads could be running because there aren't any paying line items that meet your criteria.

Your content (articles, images, etc.) are not unique, so Google will rank other sites over your site that have unique content. Plain and simple.

The header logo and navigation menu use about 1/3rd of the top of the pages (prime space) even though it scrolls out of view when navigating deeper into the site. You should fix it for a better User Experience.

The articles are old. Site visitors want new articles.

All in all, your site is indexed and that is important to YOU, but the content is old and not important to both Google and your site visitors. I magine you have a pretty high bounce rate which is a Google ranking factor.

    • I checked the link out and it seems to explain the problem of blank ads. Thanks a lot for that.

For my website navigation, I'll ask my developer into look into it and make some corrections. For the posts being old, I would think search engines love old content, although I have a few new ones in there too.

In all, thanks a lot for taking the time and for this in-depth analysis.

  • You can perform a site test using ping dom to get an analysis and diagnose the problem .What I will do is take a look at your site and give you some feed back.
  • You probably need some high quality backlinks.

    • No, the site needs "natural" high quality backlinks, i.e "not" backlinks that you pay for or backlinks that you can create yourself.

Problem is the site will never obtain "natural" high quality backlinks in the state it is now.

  • Maybe you should pay to SEO specialist?

  • to get traffic for your site. you need to get some solids back links for your sites
  • I realize that you're looking for organic traffic. We all are.

I would suggest FB ads to begin to stir things up. Also some sort of a squeeze page to build your list. Your target is women. The lead magnet that jumps out at me is your article regarding 13 ways to tell your man is cheating.

  • hmm, if your site has only been around for a while, maybe give it some more time? tweak your SEO, get some good backlinks, and even some guest posts with links.. those are only for search engines though.... unless you are doing something explicitly wrong, Google should not have blacklisted you either.. so go ahead and wait a little more
  • I agree with Vicentbre. But I also think you've chosen a highly competitive niche.

    • Waiting is not a good strategy.

And she has not done any, really.

OP. For most websites, the homepage gets the most links and is the one Google chooses to show, if it chooses to show something.

I looked at your homepage and the marriage page only.

Both of them are set up to show the latest posts.

Which means, every time you post something new, you're changing the content.

The content tells Google what you want to rank for.

If you post often, you change the content often, you get Google to start from scratch almost every time.

If I were you, I'd add an article at the bottom of each page that is focused on your main keyword and stays put. I'd also reduce the number of posts each page allows... so as to reduce the impact of changes.

Better yet, I'd make a page for each keyword that had content that did not change and I'd get backlinks to those pages. and have those pages link to the mutable content pages.

And I'd get backlinks from pages of sites that do not allow visitors to add their link...

Either create a couple dozen sites as satellite sites (and do a good job so Google thinks they exist on their own right) or go the broken link route or the skyscraper (visit backlinko.com for how to set those up).

Also, I'd set up my pages as silos (I like Bruce Clay's explanation https://www.bruceclay.com/seo/silo/) but you can just Google it and watch a couple of videos.

Your h1 tag on the marriage category page is "marriage" which means, you have done no keyword research or do not understand how to use keywords.

I assume you're targeting women... And I know, without doing any research, that some of them are interested in how to make a marriage work better, what property rights laws are, ending one, etc... I would make pages for a keyword in for each of these areas... And a silo structure.

I looked at your "We went to marriage counseling" page. Your h1 and title have marriage counseling in the (which is a broad keyword and hard to rank for comparatively speaking). You had 2 h2 tags: one had the keyword, the other one had 'all a woman needs'. 'All a woman needs' does not help you rank... Your 2nd and third h2, and your h3's should have related keywords.

Marriage counselors, best marriage counseling, couples therapy... variations based on your keyword research.

Do yourself a favor, run your marriage counseling in Google keyword finder tool.

You know, where you get the option to discover more keywords based on a web page.

Google will give you what it thinks your page is about by giving you a few to a few hundred keywords it found on the page in the order of importance.

This does two things for yo:
      1. Tells you how google understands your page and
      2. if you've done a good job at onpage SEO, gives you closely related keywords you can explore further.... Pick some of those keywords and analyze them, choose some of the easy ones for new articles. And have those articles set up Silo-style...

PS try to get your keywords in the alt text... On this page, you have an image of Michelle and Barrack Obama with the alt=text Michelle Obama.

Your goal with alt text is not to merely describe the image but to use your main keyword and related keywords.

If you are not creative or don't like using a keyword that doesn't fully and accurately describe the image, look for images that represent your keyword.

This one, instead of Michelle Obama, could have been Michelle and Barack Obama after marriage counseling (if the photo was taken after)... Or marriage counseling therapy survivors Michelle and Barack Obama...

  • Seo its a dificult game this days and you need to have a lot of patience until you rank .I would advise you to stop focusing so much on ranking and instead focus more on creating more content and getting visits to your website from diferent sources and if you stop so much worring so much about seo then you will rank also .You can search for every posible keyword on your niche and start writing an article on your blog .You can also register on forums on your niche and put your blog in signature ,then be active in forums and people will check your signature ,you can also use quora ,youtube etc Be creative

  • Your niche about women is too broad...
Making money via AdSense is a dead end
Your design is not appealing at all

If you expect to make any money with adsense, then you will need ALOT of high-quality content and I feel this will be a never-ending battle going nowhere.

with a lot less effort and content, I suggest you focus on a single niche ie: how to solve yeast infection for women or something like that and build content around a single topic, and for this, you would need some type of ebook and funnel to boot.

and keep this in mind, if you can easily obtain a backlink, then it probably will not help you a great deal, and that is because Google does not focus on just backlinks anymore, they focus on more than 200 other signals.

and if you get it wrong, no amount of quality backlinks will save you.

IMO, since your site is appearing in index, then I bet your site is not banned

If you want me to get more technical

you got your first 2 backlinks Jan 22 2020
to-date, you have 44 backlinks on 28 domains
Your last backlink was Aug 27 2020
29.5% are dofollow via 33 IPs 97% cblocks
last 3 backlinks were spam related ie: coupon sites, etc
your branding efforts are next to nothing...
and without branding, you may as well be dead to google.

If you continue down this road without knowing how to read your analytics, then it will be like throwing darts without ever hitting a bullseye....

In other words, I think you need a better business plan....
