You should start right here - https://www.warriorforum.com/search-...eo-2018-a.html Posted right below the rules. Than carefully read several posts here and see who is walking the talk. This section has a lot of people who have no idea what they are talking about.

I started learning SEO a few years ago by taking some courses on Udemy.

Keep in mind that there are two types of SEO:
    - On-page: Keyword research, meta titles, Heading tags, URL slugs, ALT text, image optimization, internal linking, outbound links
    - Off-page: Backlinks

    Start with on-page SEO.

There are lots of valuable online resources that you can follow to learn more about SEO.

I will just share some of those (some of them have already been mentioned, but maybe you'll find something new):
    • Backlinko - probably one of the most popular SEO blogs ever. It is run by Brian Dean, one of the best experts in the field.
    • Neil Patel - again, Neil is super famous and he has over a million followers, he knows what he's talking about
    • Moz - as was suggested, Moz has a nice blog, that can offer a lot of articles on technical SEO (whereas most resources only consider on-page and off-page SEO)
    • Semrush - another good resource that you can follow
    • Search Engine Journal - these guys have a bunch of articles on SEO updating daily. Very useful if you want to follow up with the industry trends and news

Start learning the basics from youtube and then apply for financial aid in Coursera where you can get an SEO course for free. Do its specialization and you can start learning.
Also explore google analytics, SEMrush hobspot certifications. They will help you learn too.

My friend u have two choices

    1. Watch Youtube videos and listen to every marketer give their own strategy and opinions
    or
    2. Find a program that will teach u all u need to know in one program.

When it comes to online marketing its best to find that one program that will teach u everything u need to know otherwise u will end up being overwhelmed with information overload.

      You mean like
      • Basics of SEO > to make useless sites to look good in SERP
      • Why we do this? > hmmm, maybe because you think you're smarter than G.
      • What are the benefits? > you are keeping yourself busy by posting "why" in forums
      • How we rank our website by doing SEO? > You don't , Google does

      Not true.

Because to start learning basic SEO, you need to start learning how read. And before you start learning how to read, you need to start basic reading learning.

And before you start learning basic reading, you need to start learning how to flip pages. And before you learn how to flip pages, you need to learn basic page-flipping.

And to do that, you need to first learn how to sit or stand, so as to have your hands free. But before you do that, you need to learn basic standing and basic sitting.

And before you can do that, you need to be learn how to be born. But before you can do that, you need to learn basic-being-born skills.

And before you do that, your parents have to learn how to have sex... But before you they can do that, they need to learn how to date... and before that, how to stand, or walk.

Darn, it looks like you can never learn SEO.

Neil Patel lately started focusing more on promoting himself and his tools rather than teaching - a lot of his recent content is now self-promotional, which becomes annoying instead of educational, to be honest.

I will never understand why people complain that someone like Patel is promoting himself to make money. Isn't that the goal of those learning from him???

Many also complain that Patel's teaching provide no value. Well I wanna ask them then why do you guys follow Patel in the first place?!

And I do believe that we need to learn from Patel. You know what? The art of deception. The way the guy sells everything that has merely the least to no value is pretty much amazing.

    You are beginner. Right?
I think you should start learning from videos related to SEO or do some short courses from udemy. After basics move to coursera and dive in advance. I only know these 2 platforms. Few days back, there was discounts running so I have also started learning from these platforms. Coursera is not paid but all courses are affiliated with good companies, colleges or universities. So it is all up to your choice whether after completion you want certificate or not.
