So far......

2 live websites, each with two pages of content.

10 articles published to ezines for backlinks - 4 articles went live within 4 days somehow?

Articles went live at 11:00pm gmt last night - any idea how long it should take for my first two sites to index from just ezine links?

Have purchased another 5 domains to go live this week.

Aim: to have steady adsense income by Christmas, be it $1 a day or $5.

Will document my whole campaign.

-Ben

Wishing you all the best Ben. Keep us updated on your progress.

I'm also beginning to work seriously with Adsense so I'd be interested to know what works for you.

Are you following any particular Adsense training program?

No plan, been watching threads on here religiously though - paticularly xfactor

Do you have any idea how long it should take google to index my sites after articles have gone live?

Oh and forgot to mention - my sites are all hand coded, no bloated sitebuilder code and they also validate as xhtml transitional.

Not sure if this will make any difference but there is definitely more content than code!

The fact that they are not bloated will help load speed, but validation doesn't matter to the search engines, but it's a nice to have and you have it.

Here is a good plan to follow if you want to build an authority type site for adsense.

Read Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone paying particular attention to steps A through H, and other content related steps. Some of this is dated, but the basics there are all still valid.

I've had better luck with adsense focusing on quality over quantity. I think it's hard to have a bunch of properties and do enough page building and link building on them. I don't want a bunch of two page sites, each on their own domain. For me, anyway, it just doesn't work as well.

I currently host my sites all under one hoting package (Bluehost) as addon domains so they are in theory just subdomains of my main domain.

Do you think this can harm my rankings and/or adsense account?

Just waiting for my last ezine article of ten to be accepted - got 10 more ready to post up.

Do you have a sitemap? I like to submit it to google webmasters tools. Aslo, try giving social bookmarking your site. If you have a paid software then its much easier but you can use something like socialmarker.com which will fill out the forms for you

If you really want to better the chance of a quick indexing, and haven't done this already, might I suggest you:

    (1) ping the site and backlinks at pingler.com;
    (2) create an RSS feed for the site and backlinks (any html 2 rss translator will do, I prefer html2rss.com);
    (3) submit the RSS feed (if you don't have an RSS auto submitter, if you do, then use that) to feedage, feedagg, feedburner, millionrss and badrss; and
    (4) social bookmark your site.

Site has been bookmarked, not worried about getting ranked quickly - trying to keep it all as natural as possible - keeping my content very high in quality, building to last.

Well done for taking action but I reckon you should just hold back on building too many sites at once. Your first site should really have a lot more content on than 2 pages. If I were you, I would build and promote as many pages as possible on your first site and then when that is starting to earn money and just needs general maintenance then move onto your next site. The problem with creating lots of sites at once like this is that you are starting from scratch each time and as such you have to be patient before seeing any results.

Like I say though, well done for going for it, and I wish you lots of luck.

You must be a good writer! It took me 2 years to get platinum status.

I agree with Steve that you should focus on your first site and build up some content. You will learn a lot about the process that way, and about how the search engines treat your content.

I haven't read their digital products, but both Steve and XFactor have posted some useful stuff about Adsense sites.

I'm averaging about $75 a day on Adsense now, and about half of it comes from the first site I ever made. After that first one I started making smaller sites.

Quick Update - 6 sites live, 25 articles posted (Plus around 10 republished)

4 sites are indexed and are all sitting on pages 5,6 and upwards - is my best bet to carry on building links until I get to page one or give it a while to "settle" and move on?

another site got indexed - straight in at #6! this was on the principle of amazon listings being on the first page, no back-links to the site in question so something to consider when choosing your keywords.

Any tips for what to do with the sites sitting on pages 5+?

Is it best to just move on and let them settle I have probably built 20 back-links to them maybe more, but obv not all have been counted yet.

It's best to leave them for the moment and keep pressing ahead with more sites. You're not doing too bad so far. It can take sites up to a month or so to remain steady in SERPS. So in a months time, you'll know how much more backlinking you'll have to do to get to page 1.

Also, pay particular attention to your on-page SEO, as this can really help with ranking high, make sure your website content contains the first 10 or so LSI keywords, for the keyword you are targeting. You can determine your LSI keywords by entering your targetted keyword in Google Adwords Keyword Tool, then scrolling down to the section 'Additional Keywords to be considered'. Try and incorporate at least the first 10 in your website content and see if that improves your rankings.

When I have sites that far back, I just let them age a bit.

I don't actively work to move my sites upward, but from the income shift I've seen from a site moving from #4 to #2, I'd say you'd have a much better return focusing on achieving that, than from say, efforting to get a site from page 5 to page 1.

      Just my 2 :-)

Made my first 60cents yesterday not a bad start for one week in.

        3 impressions, 100% ctr.

Some of my sites that were sitting in the 5,6,7,8,9,10 pages seem to have disappeared - best to keep just building links?

I have 8 sites up now and only two have shown up on the first two pages when they were first indexed.

Two of my sites have been banned?

They were indexed within hours after a submission to digg and propeller, they showed up when using "site:" but now nothing - is it worth still building links to these sites.

a real kick in the teeth because the content was good

Does anybody know a way of checking if the site was definately in the index before?

        Greetings!

I'm 100% sure about this...and that is, don't worry about your sites. They will be back in no time. It is what's called the "google dance". Your sites will begin to settle down after a month or so.

I also have to share that I am beginning my adsense journey today as well.

I just set up a blog with firepow. I'm only going to focus on 1 site at the moment. I began with 5 posts and will be adding a new post once every day. The only link building I've done so far is add my rss feed to 20 directories.
I also have an exact match kw phrase in my domain. My goal is to achieve at least $4-5 per day by the end of December.

        Good Luck!...

This sounds like google dance. New sites tend to appear at good rankings and slowly they vanish - but show up eventually. This sounds like a common pattern everyone with new sites experience, and seems like the similar cycle with your sites. Like everybody said, no need to worry, if you did not do anything to get banned.

I am averaging around $4-$6 a day - from around three sites, 7 indexed

I have a further 15 or so sites still waiting to be indexed. Bookmarked and wrote articles for each site (some well over a week ago) and still not indexed.

Sites are same format as before but quality of content may be not quite as good as I outsourced cheaply, I am worried my sites have been penalized, thoughts?

your sites are 2 weeks old, seriously..

No.. your are not banned, no.. you are not penalized from the 3 bookmarks and 2 articles you have made.

    1. dont check your sites rankings every hour
    2. dont check your adsense earnings every hour
    3. keep building links
    4. keep building new sites
    5. after few months you will see great results if you keep on building sites and links.

I was just worried as my latest batch of site are taking much longer to be indexed than my previous ones.

The difference in the latest sites from my first ones, which seemed to get indexed fairly quickly, is that the content is more poorly written and keyword density is much higher - hence why I am slightly worried.

I've not been getting things indexed as quickly as I was in the last couple of weeks. It's probably just one of those things
