  • contextual links are actually embedded within content such as blog article as such as business directories and the editorial link is focus on niche focus keyword

    • oh ok thank you was wondering too
  • Contextual links are deep links from your web page content. Linking to authoritative and well known external resources like Wikipedia (citation) increase the credibility of your content for search engines, since it means that written content is not spam. Instead it is researched based and is relevant to the linked URL.
An editorial link is a link that results from a site having good content and marketing techniques. Editorial links are part of a strong link profile.

    • Nope to all of it.

Contextual links are links on any page, yours or not, that appear within the body of the article, as in:

      If your text is:
Once upon a time there was a girl named Cindarella who, because of a glass shoe that fit her perfectly yet fell off her foot, got to skip a bunch of social classes.

And you want them to read about glass shoes, you hyperlink 'glass shoes' above.

Editorial links are all manner of links that someone other than the author created without being asked or paid to do so by the owner of the site the link goes to or by their marketing agency.

So, if I owned the site with the paragraph about Cindarella and I link to a site about glass shoes because I think their shoes are amazing, I'm creating an editorial link.

If the glass shoe website pays me to link to them, then it's not an editorial link.

  • Editorial content is content which approved by a real person. For example, a blog post or an article on a news website.
For example, you can create a profile link and add content around your links thus making your link contexual, but it's not an editorial link.

    • If I launch a website today and link to some other website because I think it's awesome, I've created an editorial link.
