Moving website ranked website from .CA to .COM

Hi,

We have a well-established website with a lot of articles being ranked and getting around 20K of organic traffic and Google ads traffic every money.

My question is the website is under .CA, we would like to move the site to under .COM

What is the best and safe SEO practice to do it without hurting any existing rankings of all our indexed content in search engines?

Thanks in advance.

  • 301 permanent redirect is the option - preferably using regex or link by link.

It will take some time to regain the DA. You need to follow the guideline by google for cross domain linking https://developers.google.com/search...e-cross-domain

  • You are having successfully designed for Canada site... don't mess with it.

Start new .com site with some deviations directed to attract world audiences.

    As simple as that.

    • I Completely agree with you, As you are getting great organic traffic for your website. Consider creating a different website for the global audience might be a better option.

If you are determined to make the change, by changing to .com from .ca; 301 permanent redirections can be the option for you.

      Thank you!!
