Question about Keyword Cannibalisation

Hello,

I have an article that is performing well for the keyword, ex:
  • fast sports shoes for 100km


And I have other articles in mind that I think that I can rank for. They have closely similar keywords, ex:
  • fast sports shoes for 200m
  • solid sports shoes for 100km

Which leads me to my question, knowing that Google shows "one article per domain" for a query, if I write these two new articles, will google show them accordingly to the custom query? Or will Google keep showing my first article for all queries and eventually bury the other ones?

I would really love your valuable input on this matter. Thank you in advance for any advice.

  • Yes, Google will still keep rank your first article, when you create those two new blog post with the same targeted keyword. Those articles can potentially be ranked on Google also and competing with your first article. If you can successfully rank those new two articles on Google then you will get a lot of CTR to your site, just ensure the conversion rate for each article will satisfy you also the profit margin the product you sell.

    • It's very easy to believe it since you don't see everyday blog articles ranking for the same keyword.
  • Never heard about this. Where you read that or who told you this?
  • It would up to search query.
    Normally if query is asking for 100km or 200km regardless if you are mentioning
    that in the same or 2 or 200 articles, Google would respond to KWs string
