OK,i have a site built about dogs for someone else.
She wants to put articles from the other sites on hers as links.
Im going to put a box in the side of WP theme. The box will be called Dog Articles.
The links will be just there article url,and a simple description.
The description will be there first few words describing there article.
My question is,do i or should i ask there permission to put there article[link] on her site.
Im thinking i should at least ask just out of respect.
This is not any shape or form of an affiliate site. She sells dogs.

All you have to do is check at the bottom of the article on the site in which it comes from. Most articles published are free to publish from your own site as long as you don't take any credit.

In your case, there's no need to waste time asking. The article writers will not be upset that you're simply linking back to their article (thus giving them more free exposure )

Thanks. Now,will these links also count as links to her site as well.
The one reason i was asking is one of the articles has been around since 2003 and is from Discover Magazine?
When google or any Sengine crawls and sees these links, will she get more link juice?

      Hi Matt,

Since the links you are discussing are links from her site, not to her site, they won't be counted as links to her site, nor will she receive link juice. She will be passing her link juice to the sites she is linking to. If you want to receive link juice you need other web pages to link to your web page.

This is not to imply that there is no value in linking to those articles on other websites. Outbound links that enhance the usability of your web page will help to rank your web page higher in the search engines and will likely increase the number of natural backlinks that will also increase your rankings and targeted traffic.
