What do you think about managed DNS and boosting speed for SEO?

Hey guys,
I read a couple of articles (link removed by mod) regarding DNS and speed what are your thoughts about this. I know the last google update mentioned that google now takes site speed very seriously. What are your thoughts?

    Yes, it does, but it also doesn't. When users are directed to a page that no longer exists, Google considers this a 404 error. This is not a clear SEO influence, aside from the negative user experience. However, be wary of the presence of backlinks and excessively high 404 error rates. A short TTL allows for less effect during these changes.

    While DNS configuration changes have no direct impact on SEO, they can result in a poor user experience.
