Keyword not ranking higher - Why?

Hi

I am trying to rank a keyword higher, but it remains/fluctuates between 50s-60s. The keyword is part of a service i.e. "aloe vera" or aloe vare peel. The keyword difficulty is low, there is written a decent amount of content for the webpage, also the meta- tags such as title/slug/description mentions the keyword. Yet the keyword is unable to reach top 10 position in Google.

What causes the ranking to be so low? I have checked Google Search Console there are no issues or penalization. I have checked title tags, there is:

H1: 1
H2: 17
and so on

However, I noticed there are many mentions of the keyword in several H2 tags i.e. What is aloe vera, who benefits aloe vera for, what happens after aloe vera treatment, when can I not do aloe vera treatment, Aloe Vera, Aloe vera fresh up, aloe vera energy and aloe vera classic <- these are all H2 tags. I may be answering the thread, however, these H2 tags are description of different services and questions.

What do you suggest I do, thank you

Google actively penalizes sites that engage in "keyword stuffing" -- the act of using too many keywords in page content. On top of that, by directly lifting content from another website (even if you have their permission) can get your site hit with a duplicate content penalty, which suppresses it in the rankings.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11684318].message }}

      What duplicate content penalty?

At worst, Google will not rank the page you have your duplicate content in above the page with the original.

There are many things that are killing your ranking like-
    1. duplicate content
    2. not having a Google My Business page
    3. failing to create consistent content
    4. ignoring mobile-friendliness
    5. your site isn't indexed
    6. slow site speed

It's general. Yes, there are many guidelines on google. You need to focus on fresh and unique content and create backlinks on higher DA/PA sites and check your backlinks that never be removed.

Also, we have no clue what the niche is. If it is something similar to the aloe vera example, you have a tougher hill to climb. That is a YMYL niche and requires a whole lot more authority than a niche about teddy bears. If you are, indeed, in a YMYL niche, you'll have to really concentrate on your E-A-T. Well, the first and most harmless reason is that Google hasn't yet had time to index your new page. If you just created your page, then give it a bit of time before searching for yourself in the results. Remember, if Google isn't able to crawl your website and analyze it, then you have absolutely no chance of ranking.

The best way to get a particular keyword on top of Google is to target the low competition related keywords . For example if target keyword is ´weight loss´ , its better to look for related keywords like

weight loss for men with keto diet
weight loss for women with keto diet

This way you can start ranking these secondary keywords which can then further boost up the primary keyword. Hope it helps!

    1. Looks like keyword stuffing to me.
    2. Did you manually check keyword difficulty? What sites rank on page 1?
    3. Link profile?

Basically, you need to do competitor analysis and see what ranking sites are doing and try to replicate their best practices.

Search engines use Meta data to work out what your website is about. Each one of your web-pages will have its own set of meta tags and they can be optimized to describe the content on that page.

There are might be some other reasons such as page not indexed in google, website not mobile friendly, or website isn't responsive etc.

Try making backlinks on the sites with a higher DA, PA, and a lower spam score. This will definitely make your website rank in the top positions.

Did you know that msn.com gets a hit because on the spam score because it's too short and only spammers use short domain names, you know?

To rank a keyword first you need quality backlinks for that keyword. Create backlinks on some relevent sites, make anchore text for that keyword which you want to rank. Use SERP for checking who is ranking above you and check their top backlink, if you not have created link on that sites crate it.

Get good quality backlinks and you will see improvement.

First of all, check the on-page errors and duplicate content on the website.
Secondly, Kindly check your backlinks are indexed or not on google webmaster. also, check the quality of the backlinks and domain authorities, and spam score where you make backlinks for your website.
Thirdly, in my suggestions, you can focus on quality backlinks for your website.
also, make more backlinks from article submission, blog submission, guest posting, microblogging, and image sharing

Well, chances are, the majority of those backlinks are worthless if they did not spend any time acquiring them unless it is something that went viral, causing the entire world to link to it. The key is getting good backlinks and you don't need that many of them to move the needle.

There are entire courses written around that subject and no simple blurb here by anybody is going to suffice. I would suggest checking out Brian Dean's Backlinko Blog and his Definitive Guide to SEO if you want to build quality links the right way.

Low quality content, or wrong type of intent. Most important thing that could be the reason your content isn't ranking: it doesn't match the intent of people searching for your keyword.

There are multiple things you can do to rank your particular keywords.
You have to make a strong website with good quality content, using H1 to H6 tags, inter linkings, proper images, And many more things.
You can put your keywords in the right place on the all-over page of your site.
Also, your site has to follow SEO best practices is the most important to rank your particular keyword.
You have to start with google webmaster guidelines if you don't follow them.
For fast ranking, it's very useful to have a built-in network to share new content with new blogs, social media platforms, and many more.
Don't use the keyword stuffing method to demonstrate your particular keyword lots of time.
Choose the good volume keyword, but not too much volume.

There are a lot of reasons and factors that can influence your organic ranking, so even though you don't have any penalizations, it doesn't necessarily means that everything is set up on your site right. Maybe you should check your general site's performance to see if everything functions good here, check it's speed, navigation, responsivenes, sizes of some elements like images and videos and so on. Besides, if you're working inside of competitive niche, you'll have hard times with ranking keywords, and you'll need to put a lot more work and effort into it. So, this depends really on lot of things, and you'll have to check more thing at once to find the right cause and solution.
