Question regarding my two domains linking

My website is ranking on the first page in Google for many keywords. And I have just bought a new domain where I'm also targeting those keywords. Should I give a back-link from one domain to another new domain for the better keyword ranking?

  • I would say no for a list of reasons... If you have the ability to produce content that is ranking on the first site, you should be able to replicate that for the second site correct? 2 sites that rank for the same keywords means you will have more listings in the SERP's and that means more potential traffic. Start linking the 2 together and again for a list of many reasons Google has a tendency of picking one or the other, so you end up with no advantage.

  • It is not a wise decision to link your two domains together. As a result, both sites' rankings may suffer. However, if you want to rank both sites, you must first publish quality content and slowly build relevant backlinks.
