What theme/plug in is best for WP SEO

I make my own themes using Artisteer. It has done really well for me as far as SEO since it's easy to modify the code and you can put your own links in the footer.

Many times free themes come coded with other peoples backlinks...which is okay, but for your own SEO benefit, I really like Artisteer. There are two prices, the economy version which would give you everything you need to start out, and the Pro version which has everything.

When I started using it, I had the economy version, and it was really quite good.

Thanks a bunch. I am short on tech savvy so I tend to rely on the themes that do not need changing to the CSS, etc.. I am looking for a set and forget type of theme that is SEO friendly, thanks.

  I invested in all of the Studiopress themes by Brian Gardner. They are SEO optimized, easy to customize and a support forum to get your questions answered. I especially like the forum. Learnt a lot from there.
  
  Neat professional looking layouts. Not to mention the fact that they constantly update their themes.

  well, the artisteer theme is nice.. but it does some stupid things with H1 tags and H2 tags etc.. so yes.. a theme can affect SEO in my opinion.. not a whole big lot but maybe 5%.

I'll back this up.. All in one is what I have used for some time now.

The theme really shouldn't have an impact on SEO if the tags are correct

My personal opinion is that the theme has absolutely nothing to do with SEO.

The onpage optiomization that matters is:

title
relevant content
tags (perhaps)

All of which is universial and has nothing to do with any specific themes.

Jazbo, I agree to the extent that yes title, appropriate tagging and most importantly relevant sticky content is very important for SEO but not to discount theme design.

Yes Thesis is great if you are a coder.
If you know HTML and more so, CSS then you will love thesis.
If you are a newbie then forget it. You will just pull your hair out.

Platinum SEO Pack is, by general consensus from what I see, favored over All In One SEO.

I don't know from experience but it's said that Headspace 2 is the best SEO plugin for Wordpress, but it has so many options it can get complicated.

Yes, that is good the all-in-one seo pack but it will not allow you to change the H1 Tags and H2 tags etc in a theme like artisteer.
Am I wrong?
