Internal link building with related posts

As we all know most blogs have a related posts section. Mine is currently at the bottom of the page and I'm wondering if this is "good enough" for internal link building vs going to many many articles and embedding more natural language text links.

So is the effort required worth the reward vs programmatically having the related posts as a simple list?

  • It is not good enough for internal link building.

  • Sure, you can add more text links to your blog post. For example, I use the Inline Related Post plugin, which automatically adds relevant links to my articles.

  • Even if you use a plugin to add links automatically to the end of your posts, I recommend you do 1-3 manual links for each post, linking to other pages on your website. It will take some time, but will be well worth it.

  • You should also add contextual links in addition to relevant blogs.

    • Why should they?

  • Why would you settle for "good enough". Internal link building is extremely important, you'd think it would be of a higher priority.
