Ves, it's a good idea to get a "bookmarking buddy" or two. You can bookmark their stuff and they'll do yours. A few tweets, Stumbles and Diggs can go a long way and do so without leaving footprints from automatic software.

This clearly shows that SE don't even bothered about tld's of domain name.

I used to have some problem earlier.
I hear this all of the time and people keep referring to the same site ove rand over again. Has anyone bothered to look at the number of Backlinks this site has?

Not to be rude but it sounds to me like everyone who is of the opinion that they tdl's don't matter is just quoting what they heard some so called guru say. Have you tested the theory for yourself?

I have and in my experiences yes, Google does seem to show preference to different domain extensions. For this reason I have only two of them in my entire portfolio. Neither of them are ranking for their targeted keywords even though they are exact match domains. I eventually got a .com with hq added to the keywords and it is already ranking higher than the .info. This is proof enough for me that google does discriminate on .info domains. I have heard of others having problems with .me and .biz as well but I will not comment on these as I have not tested them.

Not to be rude either and I am not a so called "guru" by any means however I have a .com and .info of the same name, slightly different keywords and they both hit page 1 on google for their kw's.

I am a big fan of .info especially as the first year is 89 cents with godaddy. This is also proof to me that the search engines go on CONTENT, not the tld. .biz, .me I haven't used but while doing research on possible keywords, I have seen them come up on the first page also.

Good kw research, good content and IMHO it works for me.

Clickbump,

When you say that you try to look for 3 PR- and PR-0 sites that have less than 100 backlinks, do you mean backlinks for the site as a whole or do you mean backlinks to the particular page that is ranking for a keyword?

I wasn't able to find the answer in the thread (or maybe I overlooked it).

You are the master!

However, my .info is performing and outranking .coms for the kw's so I reserve my right to disagree with you.

Also, as I mentioned before, there seems to be .info and others on the first page of google when i am researching keywords, even those that are heavily targeted.

As I said, this is what I have learned from experience. Every time that I have bought a .info domain I have had a much harder time getting them to rank then I have a .com/.net/.org. Your experiences may have been different but I will stick with what I have learned through trial and error. While a .info domain might only cost 89 cents it will cost you a lot more in the long run on the time spent trying to get it to rank. Not only that, but if a searcher has a choice between clicking on a .info domain and I .com which one do you think will get the click? Like the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for".

Could you explain allinurl/allintitle and PR- or PR-0...

I have no clue what those things are.

allinurl/allintitle is referring to the number of sites that have the exact keyword phrase you are targeting in their title and url.

PR- or PR-0 is referring to the pagerank of the sites that you will be competing against on the first page.

Okay, cool.

Where do I find these things?

I checked Google AdWords Keyword Tool, and they weren't there.

There are many different softwares you can use for this. I personally use MNF and SEO spyglass for checking competition (or I used too when using this method) and SEOquake to check the pages pr. I also use scrapebox if it happens to be open when I am doing keyword research.

However if you own no software to automate the process you can simple go to ggole and type in "allinurl:yourkeywords" or "allintitle:yourkeywords" and google will return the results that you are looking for.

Hi all,
Ran across this really neat (i think) add-on for Firefox, and thought I'd share with the Adsense bunch

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12735

it's from the Whydowork site and is an Adsense monitor that puts your stats right on your browser.
I just thought I'd share

Andie

Just curious regarding the tld domain name...would it be bad to have http://kwniche.genericdomain.com or http://genericdomain.com/kwniche instead of buying many domains...can it still get on page 1?

cyberskyfox - no it's not bad. Subdomains can perform and using a directory can too, but the guys that have done the math are very clear - if you use an exact name match with your keyword, you will get a significant boost in the rankings.

it is also clear that dot com / net / org work well seem to do better than other tlds.

So keywordphrase.com/net/org gets a boost and others don't

And you will still find folks disputing all this.

:-)

Hi Jason, welcome!

I've heard from lots of people that are using this method and having surprising success. The key is proper niche research and selection. Please share your efforts with others once you get it going.

Best to you!

Just wanted say that i have been following Clickbump for sometime and i have nothing bad to say. I am on site #15 and all the sites are either on page #1 or #2.

I had sites before i started following clickbump. They were set up as amazon sites and not making money or even on page #1. I have gone back and change the theme to clickbumps theme and took away the amazon codes and POOF!!! MAGIC.....
They now make money with adsense and on page #1.

My only concern is volume. I am finding alot of KW with 3000 search volume and it seems that is not enough.. but still works.

does anyone have the same concern and what did you do to make the numbers go up.

thanks

I don't know html coding and all these that's why I use wordpress for my website and I'm using general themes. I have a CTR of less than even 2%/. I tried searching google to find a good and high ctr theme but haven't got any.

So I was wondering if anyone of you can please help me in getting a high CTR mini site theme..

Thanks in advance

Hi CB or anyone who want to answer,

I have one question:

Do you always check your content in copyscape.com (or other duplicate content checker) ? is it okay to post unique/rewrite content but result some duplicates when you check it in copyscape?

Thank you,

Nsn

I don't understand how a unique content can be duplicate..
If its not copyscape passed then its not unique at all. :p

It will be very hard to gain ranking in such cases. I recommend you to buy .info domains instead.. They are cheap.. $1 only

If you want half of your payouts to go to hubpages. Or just get a 10$ domain and reseller hosting and save yourself big time in the end. If you have a bunch of content on hubpages...what happens when hubpages gets google slapped. Or what happens if hubpages starts going harder on commercial blogs. Then you're screwed.

Put them on your own domains is the best way to go.

Clickbump

Could we create Hubpages instead of web pages initially to see where the keywords get ranked in the search engines. Then, if they do well, it would provide the incentive to then purchase a domain to target the same keywords and the hubs would provide a backlink to the website or blog?

I write unique content for each site and I suggest you do the same. It doesn't take long at all. If I start from an existing page, I will rewrite it with such a degree of uniqueness that there's no reason to run it through a program like copyscape.

I have an html site with the .net version of the product name, but it is a one page site. Is it possible to link an about me and privacy page to my main sales page but not have the links showing up on the front page.

Hi there younrhamir, It will depend on your specific niche, the competition and the quality of your content as it relates to the target search. I personally don't use article marketing for backlinks, though ymmv.

Hi Kimkitch, from a technical perspective, its just a matter of separating out your two pages and the links in the markup of each of them. So, short answer is yes.

Longer answer is that I would not advise it if you are pushing Adsense. You need to at least have a privacy policy page link visible on all pages that promote adsense.

Hey Clickbank. I was wondering if you worry about having such small sites? I have been following a similar strategy and about 10 of my sites are only 1 page. The page is always useful, unique content but it just seems a bit flimsy to me. I've begun adding more posts to my blogs just so they don't look so MFA. Do you have fears of that ever knocking you out of the adsense program?

I'm starting to realize that there are a lot of 300, 400 per month related search terms that I can usually target with an extra post and pull in an extra 2 or 3 clicks a day which sometimes relates into 6 or 7 bucks in the right niche.

Sadly though some of the niches I have found really have no other related keywords or products and I'm going to have to keep the site 1 page along with an about and privacy policy. Like I said, the content is unique and helpful. Does that ever worry you?

Hi Jacob, great question that I get asked quite a lot

I've learned from others that Adsense is a very fickle mistress and I've diversified my income sources beyond sole reliance on it. I would not suggest to someone that they can use Adsense as the sole means of income. I suggest a diversified portfolio that leverages not only Adsense but also clickbank, amazon and other affiliate platforms. There's a ton of opportunity out there for monetizing content. Adsense just happens to be the easiest, and most enjoyable, in my opinion.

So my suggestion, if this is a concern to you is...

(1) Create more pages of content if it makes you feel more comfortable, but there is certainly nothing wrong with having a single page of content if that content is the best answer for the searcher's question. Having more pages just for the sake of having more pages, is as short sited as having a single page of content that does not answer the target search and screams MFA.

(2) Make sure all your pages and content are relevant to the target search

(3) Follow the rules, never click your own ads and keep everything above board and totally within the terms of service of your chosen monetization provider.

Go grab a copy of Market Samurai , it's like $150 or something.

Then just have a play with the "Rank Checker" module.

Then PM me with a huge smile on your face.

It keeps all the historical rankings data for your sites, no more taking daily screen shots.

It's pure gold, trust me.

I'm not sure about .info domains. Once i tried to get ranked but it was really hard. Keywords were not so competitive also.

Hi, its been a while since I last posted questions. It seems that your answers to the various questions posted are very helpful. Anyway, I would like to know how can a local small business owner like me, specifically a dumpster company, get quality relevant links and get ranked on google faster?

All you need to do is to choose a keyword which has minimum competition.. I myself search for the such keywords for which my site shows up on the first page of google just after the indexing of site..

Then I use couple of methods like social bookmarking and blog commenting to bring it on the top of the first page..

Clickbump,
Sorry if this was asked already, this thread is so long already.

Lets say I found a keyword that has the domain name available, right number of searches, low MNF SOC indicator ( i know this in not on your list, but is recommended by X Factor), but the site on the first page include amazon, zazzle, tradekey, nextag etc. Do you recommend staying away from these niches?

Also even though these site root domain carry allot of PR, their individual pages may not. Am I just looking at the page PR, even thought the root domain is authority one like Amazon for example.

Yes, they can be beat. It won't happen overnight though, the key is to be patient, but if your site is consistently getting the clicks over these sites, it will continue to climb (that's been my experience).

Yes, Google ranks pages, not sites, so you are competing with the page, not the site.

Hi scott,

Can you recommend the style of writing of content?
How many sites you have at the moment with how much earning per day?
Do you have a single page site with exact search volume of 2400 per month? If so, how this site perform in term of profit per month?

Thanks

Or export the SEOBook results to a csv file and create an excel file that keeps track of the rankings and makes charts etc.

MS might be more hands off from the start, but if you can't spend the money, its a good way to do it for free.

Hi there,

I tried to build 10 sites on this concept a few weeks ago, however my results aren't as good as I'd hoped.

Could anyone please take a look at my stats and pass on any advise. I'd really appreciate it. This could also help other noobs like me.
