Hi everyone. So i have website in the UK for gutter cleaning services.

3 plus years old. DR24 rating. Well optimized pages targeting local towns.

It used to rank on page 1 of google.co.uk for lots of kewords, now it just doesnt move when building new links to the site? I have done link building for the last 3 months and its just not moving.

There was a period where i didnt do much SEO for around a year, but for the last year or so i have revamped the site added more content and done more link building.

There are no google penalty's all the pages are indexed. It scores 95 on ahrefs audit report.

Anyone got any ideas?

Backlink monitoring tools like Linkio will keep track of your links and let you know if they are still live or if they were taken down due to an algorithm update (which happens often). Linkio allows you to have a dashboard where you can see all of your links in real time and receive notifications whenever Google updates their algorithm, which happens often! This is an essential tool for anyone who wants to know when something has happened with their backlinks so they can take action if needed. If you find that some of your backlinks have been lost due to an update, simply create new ones in their place.

Use some tools and check for all broken links, Maybe the link are from spam website and they are dead now. You can use ahref for analyzing all the links.

Seems as though all who answer this thread are wasting their breath (or whatever the finger equivalent of that is) since the OP appears to be AWOL.

Right, SEO is what you should always keep in mind. Keyword stuffing is the one factor that can down your content while link building. So, go check your backlinks and do the right SEO that is required.

It would be good to hear a few examples of the keywords which you are targeting and not moving for? This will help me to evaluate the problem in more detail.

Reading between the lines, you mention you're targeting local towns...

Does this mean all of the keywords that you're targeting contain an area name? If so, how close are these areas to one another and how close are they to the location of your business (official address)?

Google has become a lot more savvy in ranking for "local searches" than it used to be.

Ranking for an area keyword used to be as simple as loading that page with the area name you want to target. These days, Google look at your NAPs (Name, Address, Postcode) and see if you're really in the area that you are targeting. From my experience, no amount of backlinks will enable you rank above a genuine local competitor in a search with local intent.

One way around this problem is to have "branches" of your business in the towns you want to target. A "branch" could be a virtual office, PO box, or some sort of local address that you can use on the town pages of your website. That would enable you to set up a Google Business profile too, as most local searches will bring up the map pack.

Hope that helps. Seeing the keywords and pages enable me to assist more.

You might need to hire an SEO expert or reputable SEO business. It sounds like you have everything done properly to rank well and haven't done anything for it to lose rank. Now it might be time for an SEO expert to take a deep dive into your site and evaluate your competitors in order to provide a thorough answer to your question. Many of them offer a free analysis before any work is done in order to get your site back on the top.

    Hi Options,
Start from the Google search console and look for manual action or security issues; then you can monitor the SERPs positions on the Advanced search console; if it's continuously decreasing for the months, then try to monitor the content as well as backlinks. Audit your content using Semrush as well as backlinks for anchor text.

You can disavow the irrelevant and spammy backlinks from the Google Search Console, publish some great pieces of KGR-based content and also keep updating the old content.

Also, try to diversify the things cos Google is smart then ever and keep upding the things, another good option to hire some expert to review your website for recovery plan.

    Hope it will make sense.
